Did not see your reply we must be posting over one another. I have had better days, and took the painkillers given by the GP and then felt light headed and sick so laid down for a while. Still dont feel right so have decided not to eat and get to my bed.

    Take care.

  • Hi All...
If SoA shows a minus figure after priority expense is it the case that BR might be refused?

  • How much are you in deficit? Can you post your SOA on the thread so the experts can check it over for you.

If it is not too bad then you just say that you are taking steps to bring things back under control

Okay is this sky or virgin and how many boxes do you have.

Okay ours is 3 boxes VIRGIN one in my lounge, one in mums bedroom and one in 14 year old sons chill room, my dining room. 2 extra boxes only added 3 months ago but got a deal on them.

    Line rental £11
    Talk evening and weekends £3.45
deal for TW and XL tv -£8.00
    Itemised bill £1.00
    TV XL £22.00
    2 additional boxes £30.00
    Discount on 2 boxes £11.00
    BB size M £18.00
Only just added (tennis freak) Sky Sports £18.00

total service charges £86.00 plus calls which were £4.24 total

    £90.49

Mum pays £10 towards this, son pays £10 out of allowance from his dad that he gets each month. So my bill is approx £70 now as I dont use my mobile I consider this is good value to me as a person, and only around £10 more than allowed for a phone and mobile. Mum has a BT line in my name but she pays that but it will be going on my SOA as it is in my name. She hardly makes any calls so the £40 normally allowed for a land line will be included.

So not sure how you mother reckons on £100 unless you have extra boxes and extra packages?

Hope that helps sorry for delay had to find the latest bill.

Hi Rylynn, how are you today?

    Got the Virgin Bill:

    Line Rental £11
Talk Mobile £1.50 (not sure what this entitles to freebie/minutes wise)
    Talk unlimited £7.95
    TV XL £22.00
    Phone/TV/BB Bundle saving -£9.50
2Add setop Boxes £10 (should be £30 but bought the Virgin+ boxes)
Movies 4+5 package £25 (the Biggie!!)
    Broadband size M £18

£85.95... I expect Movies 4+5 could come off (I'm assuming thats movies 4+5 in the TV book which are usually not much cop?) And we do rent the odd film off filmflex so that bumps it up to £100ish....
  • Hi DeeDee

I have to do SoA again - I did it last night using a max rent figure of £800, but forgot to take out all the credit card payments, it was all wrong. I did it again and it said -£87 - does that mean i should bank on paying less rent? I will do SoA and post it on here again.... (i hate doing them, it brings it all home...)

I know it is upsetting when you get it written down, but it also helps you see where any savings could be made.

I am paying £9.50 per extra box but they are not the plus ones, and I did not have to buy them which I assume you did, I just paid £30 to have two new ones installed, I only ordered one but rang back and if I had done one other later it would have been another £30 so I did them both.

When you say creidt card payments and rent I am not sure what you mean Rubie, what is your monthly rent? that is the figure you should be applying to the SOA.

Oh and I am not too bad, had a creditor call,, ouch sooner than I thought, but said I was NOT here... am in the middle of writing to PP and just sat and read Martins advice on them, shame I did not have that info to hand in 2004/05 I would not have taken one on, hey ho there we go, maybe back then I had a choice, right now I have NO choice so BR here I come.

  • I know - i will do it, probably tomorro (not that i procrastinator!!)

I think we pay £5 per additional box for the privilege of having the XL pack even though I bought the V+ boxes. Isn't Movies 4+5 and Sports channels included in the XL? Maybe I should see if that £25 is an overchage - as they carried on charging for the additional standard digital boxes even after we bought the V+ boxes.

I was doing an SoA to see how things would look after BR - ie using a hypothetical rent figure and assuming no debt payments - otherwise still wont afford the mortgage repayments.... or at least that what I assumed, perhaps could put both on and see what it looks like?

Oh, I read that on your other thread earlier. Can't believe you've got to go through it all again.... Is PP PayPlan? Are they the ones that you did the IVA with last time? I had a Payplan leaflet sent to me from CAB...

Yes it was Payplan Rubie, and it was the CAB that gave me the leaflet in person when a friend insisted for my sanity I go and sort it out the CAB were to busy so fobbed me off, so I rang Payplan, and boy were they so helpful, but having seen how much they got as to how much my creditors have I can see why they were so ultra nice. When you are at an all time low, not sure what the hell you are doing, worried every time the phone rings, you clutch at any straw.

Had I know more things as I do now I would not have touched an IVA with a barge pole, I had NO house, yes I had a car, and that is what the lady played on.. but now I see that if you need it for work they do not normally take it, unless it is worth mega money over £2k, or you do not work.

An IVA is right for the right people., Martin says only around 3 per cent are the right people... and I am sure he knows his stuff, just read all his notes on front pages re IVA, made very interesting reading, even if it is too late in the day.

I knew they took a percentage Rubie but hell not the one they have taken, total paid by me, over £5k total paid to creditors, £1300, so they make good money these PP people!! and if it fails back come the creditors on your phone to make life hell for you again, but ME I aint HOME right now!! ha ha..

  • HI Rylynn - surely CAB shouldn't be offering PP up as a source of help when they get away with doing that??

I've just been to one of the local estate agents to sign up for details of rental properties - the lady there told me that the rent is paid up front (I knew that) plus bond which is always £100 more than a month's rent (fair enough) then there's an agency fee on top which is a quarter of the normal monthly rent and a minimum of £175 (didn't know that) plus £15 per person to run a credit check (didn't know that) - is anyone aware that these are normal run of mill costs? Why does the tenant have to pay the agency fee? When does credit rating take nose dive?

Also, I received a letter in yesterday's post telling me I was seriously in arrears with a catalogue - I had no idea because I'd ordered some clothes online back in Feb/March and paid the whole amount by credit card, assumed it was fine. Had a letter from them telling me they owed me money (in big bold letters) so I just assumed they'd put it back on the card and thought nothing more of it. I phoned the debt collector who'd written to me, querying it and was told that the letter (about them owing me) had gone out in error to most of their customers and they'd had a lot of complaints about it. They want me to pay £42 for a pair of £27 trousers - why, i asked, because this was paid by credit card - they say that I'd gone of the limit that THEY issued me - but if it was paid up front, surely I wouldn't need a credit limit from them unless I was buying now paying later? I've toughened slightly, and decided Im not going pay - they can take me to court!!!!!
