I think if its a death only, the OR wont have any interest in it, as they cant "Cash it in". You could try and leave it on your SOA if you want to have a life insurance policy and if the OR wont allow it then so be it (if you see what i mean).

Hello again - hope you are all well.....

Just wanted to ask about door stop collectors - I've had a postcard through letterbox from Aegis BPO Services (formally Global Vantage) saying they're coming to see me Thursday between 8.00 am and 9.00 pm. Is this likely to happen? I spoke to CCCs regarding a different letter from another Collection agency and they said it won't happen. But this postcard was here when I got home from work today and was a bit more alarming (I don't know why exactly, it just did). I've told mum and son not to answer door to anyone at any time unless they know who's there - but that feels a bit OTT :(

I doubt very much they will turn up, it's designed to alarm you, and to make you give them money to stop them coming.

They have as much right to be on your property as the paperboy ie:no rights what so ever.

Don't worry about it, they rarely send anyone out as it costs them money and if they do either don't answer the door or open it and say sorry please go away, I will only deal with your firm in writing, go away and then close the door.

These people are not bailiffs and have no rights like a bailiff has.

  • That's what i was hoping you'd say. I think it was more daunting because I'm not sure which debt it relates to - the other one was quite open about who they were and who they're acting for, but this one just says "I will call on thursday". Thanks anyway
  • Hello, haven't been on for a while so hope you are all well.....
Am still trying to fill in my BR forms and nearly finished, but have to do SoA and Section 13. Section 13, as you know, asks for reasons why you're in debt - and must be no more than 4000 words! I've only got about 10 lines. Are they expecting it to be closer to 4000 words? Do I need to go into details/dates etc?
