I was thinking it might be that as I found a reference to ruby on the H2G2 site.

Unless it's for more than 5 characters and the spaces are there to throw us!

I was thinking it might be a lot more cryptic than that, I thought the first part might indicate a university of some sort? Does anyone know what building the picture clue is of? I've never been to Spain so have no idea with this one!

Hiya, Hubby has been working very hard trying to solve this one. Clue mentions a poet, He thinks he is Pablo Neruda, who wrote ode to a Lemon. In the poem a topaz is mentioned. Thats not the answer though, neither is Lemon. Guadaloupe is mentioned, thats a melon, tables turned? melons come in different colours and are fruits. Do you think he is on the correct track or totally wrong. Interested to know your thoughts.

It's definitely Alhambra. The Red One from the extra clue. It's been pretty much everything in its time.

I have searched so much cant remember how I got to 'chert' which is a crystal and was mentioned when I was searching. Also on google images found the clue piccy. On googling (chert glows red) there is stuff. Dont know if this helps or could it be the answer? .

It could be Prism as it says in the archetechture that it was built with it's own special type of column which is not used in any other building. The capital of which has a very simple decoration and a prisim, it also stated that the roof rests on only 4 points.
A prisim also has facets so I'm at a loss.
If at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.
