Dave, we have new users on this thread who may not yet have come across you. Please can I ask that you keep your unique posts to yourself as there are a lot of worried people who may not appreciate your brand of assistance.

WE know there is a problem here, I myself am warning people that paypal might not come through for everyone, but many of us regulars are doing what we can to advise those people affected.

Now that the seller has been suspended it almost certainly means that the pages will no longer be available which is a shame.

Under the old rules £150 was th e'basic' level and replaced the old ebay compensation and many people were charged a handling fee for being refunded, it used to be £15. It also meant that funds were not guaranteed to be returned unless paypal themselves could grab that money from the seller, which is why I said earlier that those on the basic protection only might be on a first come first served basis until the available funds run out.

However with paypal if you don't get a refund then it is always worth persevering as they themselves often don't understand their own rules. We have had instances on here where a claim has been agreed but then the buyer has been told that funds were not available, Frivious Fay , one of our regulars, is very good at pointing out what you need to say back to them to try and force a refund,.

What status is showing on your paypal claim at present, are they still awaiting a response from seller or has it moved on? How many days now has your chargeback bene open?

Says still awaiting response from seller , which isn't going to happen , I opened mine on the 8th so the 18th is D-Day , so to speak .
Baby Thomas born 3 months early by emergency section on 21/1/09 weighing 1lb 15ozs .
Thomas came home after 3 months and 2 days in hospital weighing 5lb 15ozs
    Thomas weighed 21lb 4ozs on his 1st birthday , a total weight gain of 18lbs 5ozs !

On the 18th get back on the phones to them as they may well try and push this for the full 21 days, if necessary search paypal for their complaints procedure and raise a complaint against paypal themselves for dragging their feet.

Once they accept a complaint against theselves you will find that your emails via the complaints section can get answered in as quickly as 10 mintes sometimes.

  • Morning everyone,
we now have 7 people in my PM folder with a combined loss of £1140,a further £99 was refunded in the early days of the scam,so didnt add that to the total!
Thanks for everyone contacting me,i have read your details and messages and i really do feel for you.I cant give a soild yes or no answer if you will be refunded, hope you will but its a waiting game, but i can promise you we will help in every way we can!
    it takes more energy
    to hate than to love...
    love and relax!

  • I too opened my dispute and escalated it to a claim on 8th oct. It is currently saying waiting a response and seller has until 18th. I paid £99.99 for a buggy and had the paypal £150 guarantee displayed on the page.

I think there may be a number of people who are still not aware that they have been scammed. As I have said before only about 47 people managed to leave feedback but we know he sold to many more. If someone does not monitor their ebay account very often and purchased in the later days, then they may only be 14-21 days into their 28 day delivery estimate and not aware that it is never going to come.

    Huh?

I was simply pointing out that sometimes ebay sweeps problems like this under the carpet - ie removing the posts waring others.

If you are not bothered and you WILL be getting your money back, why waste your time on here and emailing the police, contacting MPs, suing ebay and contacting interpol and watchdog?? You haven't listening to the good advice of Rainman and soolin, but then if your refund is a click away - why would you?

I too am not on here to try and reclaim any money, as my money was refunded by Google before I even knew it was a scam, HOWEVER, I too am willing to try and catch this waste of space, because I am hoping we can help as many people as possible to get their money back (including yourself if you have been caught up in this?). I have done a couple of emails to try and help, and if you consider this 'wasting my time' then i could easily drop the case and leave everyone to it, without my support. BUT I'M NOT !!! :p
