  • I have just emailed Hillingdon police station stating what has happened and asking how/where I should report it if it is not to them. I have just received my new buggy from a reputable seller.

well done lulu, thats a step in the right direction, the fact that the fraud has taken place in their borough indicates to me they have a duty to investigate it. whether this escalates to the CID or Interpol becoming involved we will have to wait and see.

I started a thread on the ebay community boards looking for some advice it was named
    "discount-buggies-online MAJOR SCAMMER BEWARE"
It was online for less then 5 mins, I received this email from the ebay moderation team, this has not been doctored in any way shape or form.

It has recently come to our attention that one of your posts on our Community
Boards breached our Boards Usage policy.

It appears this user has been selling top end childrens buggies for
the past few weeks with a deivery time of up to 28 days. Now it
appears no one has received their buggies, some people were
fortunate to be refunded after I informed them of this scammer. Ebay
have shut his site down but he is away with £1000s of innocent
peoples hard earned. Where do they stand with this "paypal sellers
guarantee" The people involved have a thread on
    moneysavingexpert.com site entitled
    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?

This would appear to be fraud on a serious scale, a few on them have
written to ebay, paypal and watchdog. I have told them to contact
his local police station in Hillingdon as we know his alleged name,
address, phone no, fax no, email addy, website etc etc. The scary
thing is he has a site http://www.discountbuggies.webeden.co.uk/
which is still live and scamming. How does this get closed down.
There are a few irate mothers to be on the thread I posted above and
I wondered if anyone on here could supply any useful advice about
bringing this fraudster to justice. Thanks in anticipation

Could I suggest someone who has been defrauded by this scammer to contact his local police at the above number. They will have to look into it as it appears that this is like fraud on a big scale. Why wait on ebay, paypal, watchdog, new forums etc etc PHONE TODAY. I would gladly and love to phone but they will not entertain me as I am not a victim. Let me know how you get on, Im sure they will be more than happy to co-operate.
I have emailed the police, so thanks for finding that info. I also emailed the MP for the area so hopefully one of these emails will come to something!

  • Ive been reading everyones messages but have been unable join this forum unti now!!! Ive also been scammed by this loser!! ( a very polite term i will use for now!!) I purchased the Mamas and Papas ultima mpx travel system - i think i was one of the first, so when i did all of my internet research there wasnt reports on him so i felt it was quite genuine, the purchase worked out at the time to be about £90 cheaper as mamas and papas were giving away a free car seat base, so it wasnt as good a bargain as originally seen, but i was still saving £90, it all helps!!!! Mr Discount Buggies replied immediately to all of my messages - very efficient. I was given Wednesday 8th October between 3pm and 5pm, found someone to collect my son from school et etc etc and it obviously failed to arrive!!
What REALLY REALLY upset me was after sending numerous emails to this guy - he never got back to me -
i sent feedback to ebay(for some reason it came out as a positive) and within seconds he had sent me a positive feedback saying what a great customer i was, with good comms, would use again etc etc etc, at this point i was actually in tears and he was totally taking the p*** out of me and was obviously waiting at his end to rub more salt into the wound!!!!!!!!!!!!
What is upseting more than anything is my baby is due in less than 2 weeks, the pram was supposed to be used as a crib (as well as a pram) the car seat is an item which the hospital insist the baby will need to be taken home in or you cant leave!!!!! Fortunately i have a very understanding husband. these last few weeks of pregnancy are meant to be very exciting as everything is supposed to be all falling into place and the wait for baby is getting closer, we all dont need this stress at any time - but pregnancy makes us feel more vulnerable anyway.
I shall end my rather long essay and hope i have put my point across, i would love more than anything for this scumbag to be caught and will do as much as i can to help anyone.
Thanks RAINMAN for the emails you managed to send to people , its a pity i wasnt on your list, but you obviously had so many people to inform i do understand.
  • I feel really bad for you. We too bought the mamas and papas set, but unlike you we have a few months not a few weeks till our arrival. try not to let him get you down, we have to keep positive to fight! Just think he will get his come-up-ance if we work together and he can never take away the feeling you have when the baby arrives. (It wont mind being put in a drawer!) What you should do now is email everyone we have on here (If you look through you will find email addresses etc) e.g. Hillinton police (where he is meant to live) The local MP, Watchdog, trading standards almongst a few. The more people that do this the more likely somenone will take notice. We are all trying to find out things by doing web searches etc so we are all trying to get somewhere. Keep your chin up!:A
