I disagree. WC have used tap water for donkeys years its only in recent years many are using water that has been filtered and this is mainly down to health and safety and using ladders (see below in red)
If you wash with tap water and dry properly there is no problem
You are no doubt aware that in 2005 new working at height regulations came into play which brought into question whether ladders should be used when cleaning windows.
“Every employer shall ensure that work is not carried out at height where it is reasonably practicable to carry out the work safely otherwise than at height.”
You can still use ladders but the act does say "reasonably practicable"Cleaning window with Tap water is not normally successful unless you live in a very soft water area.
The chemicals in the tap water means that the glass dries with white spots, streaks of residue from the calcium and magnesium salts in the water.
If you want crystal clear results invest in a professional "Insured " window cleaner who uses pure water you won't regret it for the few pounds you will save you could be doing something of much higher value with your time...0 -
Hi im a professional window cleaner i have read all the comments on here that have made me laugh if i was you i would check up for ppl that are doing it that cheap and if he is claiming has they got fully insurance? and if he's using fairy liquid i run a company on my own i know you can not buy any stuff or run your car or van on the road for silly amounts of money like this if he's using fairy liquid it's bad for your windows and the rubber seals around your window as they will crack! if he's doing it that cheap he's not insured so if he falls off the ladder he can claim off of you. if doesn't pay for his cloths and his tax, mot and insurance and if he breaks down and it needs fixing it don't cover the cost. he can't be paying for his own wages. And to clean a house properly all the frames, windows, all doors cobwebs every thing gets done i have been running a window cleaning business for 6 years now i spend in cloths and the van stuff is round about £1,400 a month and thats not doing the wages or petrol or nothing like that.
You wanna buy some cheaper cloths then.
No doubt the criminal convictions and a disqualification make van insurance expensive.
£16,800 a year to run a van and buy cloths?0
