Wow, mine feels pricey now. £7.50 for a 3 bed - 14 windows. In Hertfordshire.
lol - this should make you feel better then *rolls eyes*
I didn't ask for the quote but came home one day to a card through the letterbox about 18 months ago...Offering to clean our windows once every 4 weeks for £15 (now we are slightly out of the way and do have some big windows). In all honesty I was gobsmacked... our last place was a 4 bed which cost £4 every 2 weeks. So I am also now in charge of window cleaning once every six months clean with soapy water and then spray on generous amounts of stay-clean.
What did they come back with op?

I've just use one of those extending window washer jobbies that come round at Aldi from time to time. I just fire the water up from the hose, takes me about 15 minutes to do my eight windows and two doors. Free!0

Id like to comment on this as i am a window cleaner, and the prices you guys are paying are obviously paid to people without any insurance (god help if there ladders come down on your conservatorie assuming they use ladders) how long have you had a window cleaner for as youll probably get dropped soon, well time will tell with bad weather setting in, as for using a extending window washer jobbies i would love to see the results from this. Window cleaning isnt what it use to be anymore, if i charged these sort of prices i wouldnt beable to pay my public liability, van insurance, uniform, water bill, diesel, tax bill (yours probably just collects cash) mots, road tax, wear of equipement, consumables like liquid, cost of flyers, i also have a crb check (police check) so at least my custys no they have a trust worthy cleaner on there property especially with all those nice lawn mowers and bikes in your gardens.0

Most people around us pay £20 every 4 weeks. We are south west. They come in gangs like 4 people doing the house and are pretty quick. If you work and have the money it`s fine. My neighborour pays £10 as they just go over with a dry cloth. We have the leded sqears on the glass so it seposed to be dearer. I pay £ 0.60 for all my windows (10) + my time, benefits clean windows and a loss of loots of calories. I am too tight to pay for something I can easily do myself. I will be imploing my kids very soon for some pocket money!0

Have to agree with jaykie’s post
Lots of residential customer don’t realise they can be held accountable if there is a serious accident concerning there window cleaner, worst case scenario financially you can lose your home when you are sued.
So if you are paying to little for your windows to be cleaned there’s a good chance he doesn’t have adequate insurance if any. Your home insurance is not adequate either.
Lots of people are stuck in the past regarding window cleaners prices, not helped by the amount of cowboys working in the trade.

And believe me there are lots of cowboys about too, turn up when short of cash, public liability is a major thing and its true that if your cleaner hasnt got it you are liable if he has a accident, as there has recently been a case of this when someone was given permission to stand on porch roof by owner of house, the cleaner fell and even tho he wasnt a registered cleaner and was breaking the law his compensation was in the thousands as he sued the home owner.0

Your window cleaner should have two insurances, public liability and the more important one for residential (and commercial customers) is personal accident cover.
The window cleaner is then protecting the customer and the public interest as well as himself.
If not the customer picks up the bill if there is an incident. The majority of claims are below £15,000 (no win no fee)
Your window cleaning bill won’t be so cheap if you are faced with this!

You wouldnt be saying that if hse turned up, its called the law, not my decision, maybe you didnt watch rogue traders last night then where a w/c fell off ladder, and this wouldnt happen to me as ive invested lots of money so i dont have to climb ladders, you if your happy with your cleaner then not a problem but at least i know i can come home to my family each evening to enjoy.0
