2.50!!!!!!! What a bargain. Can you ask your cleaner if he works in Crawley West Sussex please?

Anyone know of a good cleaner that cleans windows and frames. Also does guttering and pipes?
  • We're charged £35 every 2 weeks for our windows to be done, and we live in a three bedroom house, I don't care about the price to be honest as long as i can see out of them, i don't care what the price is, but have people have outlined in previous posts, 3.50 and so forth really is not feaseble...

I must say we have had some dodgy window cleaners around here before, I mean some of them have even broken in to houses and things, never saw any of them fall of a ladder yet though, or damage anything but I'd rather trust the cleaner I've had for 10 years, than some random walk along who just started (he's had his own business for 30 years)

    Each to their own.

isnt it amazing when we have a thread like this who the so called pros turned up and tell us all about health & safety, insurance, cost of transport etc...

its so funny cause in my 50 odd yrs ive never had a window cleaner fall off a ladder and hit a passerby or break anything on my/parents property.

    its CLEANING WINDOWS !!!!!!.
    it aint rocket science.

Window cleaning is one of the most dangerous jobs out there and just because your guys got away with it for 50 years doesnt make any less of a high risk.:(
£1.00 per window bay is industry standard

My window cleaner charges 4.50 for a 2 bedroom semi, all windows, both upstairs and downstairs. Comes about every fortnight. I usually give him a fiver. We're in Scotland.

  • Hi im a professional window cleaner i have read all the comments on here that have made me laugh if i was you i would check up for ppl that are doing it that cheap and if he is claiming has they got fully insurance? and if he's using fairy liquid i run a company on my own i know you can not buy any stuff or run your car or van on the road for silly amounts of money like this if he's using fairy liquid it's bad for your windows and the rubber seals around your window as they will crack! if he's doing it that cheap he's not insured so if he falls off the ladder he can claim off of you. if doesn't pay for his cloths and his tax, mot and insurance and if he breaks down and it needs fixing it don't cover the cost. he can't be paying for his own wages. And to clean a house properly all the frames, windows, all doors cobwebs every thing gets done i have been running a window cleaning business for 6 years now i spend in cloths and the van stuff is round about £1,400 a month and thats not doing the wages or petrol or nothing like that.

I've no doubt that we are all grateful for your unpunctuated diatribe.

  • Cleaning window with Tap water is not normally successful unless you live in a very soft water area.

The chemicals in the tap water means that the glass dries with white spots, streaks of residue from the calcium and magnesium salts in the water.

If you want crystal clear results invest in a professional "Insured " window cleaner who uses pure water you won't regret it for the few pounds you will save you could be doing something of much higher value with your time...
