Just phoned Sky, to cancel after receiving the letter upping my sub's, tried to get me to drop some of the "mix" channels to reduce my cost, but after I pointed out that it would effectively only knock a couple of pounds off (I'd have to then pay the £10 SKY+ sub) they nice chap offered me 25% off for 12 month's. He reduced my bill from £37 to £27 so it's a little more than 25% and I'm happy.
It helps seeing so many on here getting a result, that spurns you on to give it a go!0 -
I joined NTL yesterday. Had no choice as its rented accom and cant have sattalite. The best I could get was 4 meg broadband, phone line and STANDARD tv package for 36.99 a month. Is this good? Its being installed on Tuesday. Can I ring and ask if they can better it or am I too late?Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0

Im thinking I could ring them in the 30 days money back guarantee period and try to get a better package. Unless I should ring today?
The select pack really isnt much more than the normal digital channels.Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:0 -
Just wondering but I have a friend with Sky+ and I have normal Sky (£21 per month). Can he recommend me to get Sky+ installed for a reduced rate?If freedom is outlawed, only outlaws will have freedom.0

Having always thought that the extra multiroom i took upstairs last October tied me in for another 12 months (even rang and was told this). I thought i would give them a ring to see when my contract ends.
To my delight they told me " Last october sir"!!! WOO HOOOO
Straight on to cancelations and told them it was too expensive and also price rises in September aswell, came back with 6 months half price!
Well happy as always thought my contract ended in October!
Also used the freephone number. So saving £130 till Jan.
Full package from £43.50 (up £1 in sept) to £21.75 (I also pay £10 for multiroom)0 -
OH rang up yesterday and said we are off to NTL's sky on demand TV thing and was offered free sky+, and installation for free. Sky man is coming on Friday.
For some reason, we had to cancel our multi room though - which we can't understand, but hey ho - Sky have just lost themselves £10 a month!Nice Shoes & Expensive Designer Handbags, are my downfall!0 -
phoned up to cancel and was offered 6months half price.
I asked if i could upgrade to the full package and still have the half price offer for 6 months, and was told yes0 -

Hi,
I've just phoned up to cancel and was offered 6 months half-price on the full Sky World package straight away after saying I couldn't afford it.
I couldn't get through on the freephone number- maybe I mis-dialled or something; I've still saved oodles though >£120. I'm going on holiday next week so it all adds to the spenders :rotfl:
Thanks,
Steve0 -
Currently have broadband, Family pack plus Sports and phone with NTL.
Had dropped the Sports for the summer months while football wasn't on. Phoned to day to get Sky Sports back on and to negotiate a good deal. Managed to get broadband for £9.99 a month for a further 6 months. And got my phone, family pack and sports for £32 a month.
I called 0800 183 0001. Don't press 1 as it takes you through to India where it is hard to understand and get a good deal. Just press 2 and hold. Spoke to a very friendly lady who was sorting me out discounts all over the shop.0
