I think its poor that they offer new customers free installation and 6 months free Sky Sports, but an existing customer who also subscribes to Sky Sports is going to be charged £40 to have a dish put up at his new house. Any advice on whether to ring them and how to start the haggling would be appreciated.
Always RING and ask to cancel your account - you will be offered a free moving home deal. If you tell 'em you're moving and registering as a new customer they can also offer 3 months 1/2 price on top of this.
CURRENT SKY "TURNAROUND" (CANCELLATIONS DEPT) OFFERS:
These offers are all currently valid but Sky change them every few weeks. Any agent in "turnaround" can offer these deals.

Just rang Sky on 0870 number waited 30 secs to be put through. Told the advisor I wanted to cancel Sky as my package had gone up from £36 to £40.50. I was genuine that I would cancel. He asked if I used Sky sports and Sky movies (although at moment only have Sky movies 2,4 6,8 and 10). He offered me full sky package for 12 months at £31! Result!0

Thanks for that info.
I'll give them a call when i get in from work this afternoon.0 -
Yesterday I was in the telephone queue at SKyon their 0870 no. for 50 minutes before giving up!! goodness knows how much that call will cost me and to think that Sky will rake of some of that cash really rankles. They must be the worst customer service providers in the land and I' m going to have nothing more to do with them. I hope and pray that one day their dominant position will be grabbed by someone else.Nice to save.0

You will need to use the trick below to get round using the freephone number.alictait wrote:You can get around this - you need to key in a dummy number - say 123 and then press hash key, if you do this 3 times then it will connect you to a representative.0

Thanks deanos ......I did try that first of all.....but the 0800 number just went dead...Sky are up to all the tricksNice to save.0

Got through straight away following the 0800 'trick'
No discount or offers for upgrading to Sky+ (am on the basic, £21, package). Expressed my strong disappointment, that a 8+ year customer so porrly treated. Will call back and cancel all subs. in a few days to see what they offer me then. Anyone else managed to get Sky+ for less than advertised?0 -
Hi Guys,
I cancelled my Sky TV at the end of the footy season and now want to get reconnected.
I can sign up as a returning subscriber again (not sure what deal I will be offered) but I also have to option of becoming a new subscriber (the old subscription was in my Dads name).
I'd like to upgrade to Sky+ but the B*stards at Sky have added a £60 instalation fee and increased the cost of the box to £99. What's the best deal I can get?
Thanks for any help.0
