Rasult for me 25% off for 12 months i had to have another 12 month contract but thats not a problem was paying £32 now paying £24.

I rang 0800 587 5707 and didnt press anything when it answered no # or *

At first i thought she wasnt going to offer me deal as she said she was going to go ahead and cancell and put me on hold then came back with the 25% offer :)

My first 12 month contract expired yesterday so I contaced Sky with aview to getting some sort of discout. I have the full packagee at £42.50 per month and did not want to loose the sport or movies.

I explained I wanted to cancel and was put through to a second advisor to take my detilas. I was then asked why I wanted to leave. Said I liked the service but it was just to expensive for the use I made of it - although what I dod waych was prmarily movies and sports.

I was told that Sky would be introducing some new features in the next few months and they would put me on a 1/2 price subscription for 3 months so I had the chance to check it out and reconsider.

So I just need to think about what I can do in 10-12 weeks - Any ideas!

Depends what the new offers are I suppose. I am just waiting to ring and do the cancellation thing . I rang a couple of weeks ago to complain and cancel cos we have had no end of trouble with our box and got a free service call out of them. My intention was to ring back and then get a half price offer as well but the new box has never functioned properly so we need another service call. One question I have is which is the best make of box?? The last engineer who came said the one we had was garbage but he only had the same make with him, which is even worse than our old one, constantly losing recordings, crappy sound off recordings and keeps failing recordings saying we`ve had a power cut. It also freezes up when deleting recordings needing a reboot after each problem.

Once we get these probs sorted i`m on the phone for a "we cannot afford it and want compo for all the missed programmes/failed recordings etc" .

We just phoned up and cancelled our subscription (currently pay for 2 mixes £15) but kept Sky+ @ £10. We were offered 3 months @ £7.50 but then it would revert to £15 for the next 9 months. How is that a good deal? Anyway, we declined and weren't offered anything else. To be honest the only thing of interest they could have offered would have been 66p for x months as we only watch E4 & Nick Jr of the extra channels (over FreeSat) and wouldn't want to pay much more than 66p a month for those!

After ringing 0800 5875707 and waiting until someone answered, and then getting placed is a queue, I was offered 25% off the full package for 12 months. Just mentioned that I was going to switch to Telewest as they were cheeper (multiroom xtra box = £5 per month, supreme + Sky Sports/Movies = £35.25 etc).

Hi thanks to everyone on this forum who provided suggestions in "how to reduce your TV SKY Package".

We currently have the full scubscription package - and now after talking to Sky's Customer Services have got a 25% reduction in our price for the next 12 months, although we did have to enter into another 12 month agreement with them, but seeing as we have had SKY for over 8 Years now - it is very unlikely that we would ever cancel our package totally. So we feel a 25% reduction is a result - as we also have had Sky + for over 10 months now and dont pay anything extra per month for that and also the lovely man from the SKY Intallation team, when fititng our SKY + box also wired sky into our bedroom (although we cannot watch a different channel on sky to the one in the living room) its still a great plus.

    So thanks everyone

Rang up my cable supplier (Telewest) to complain about the monthly cost of my bill (around £40 for phone, TV, broadband & the odd movie) & said that, as my 12 month contract was coming to an end, I was considering moving over to another supplier (a good tip from Martin).

Got through to a bloke in the Gateshead call centre and without me having to go any further, he said he'd see what he could do to lower the monthly cost.

I had originally gone with Telewest for their unbeatable 3 for £30 offer (phone, broadband, TV) & upgraded £5 for the essential TV package & £1.75 for caller display, hence the £40ish bill at the end of each month. I was hoping to get the same again as the offer was due to expire after the first 12 months.

I did better than that as the chap offered me all three services including the essential package AND free caller display (total package individually worth £41.24 - phone £11, broadband £17.99, TV 11.50, caller ID £1.75) for £30 for another 12 months! Saving over £120 a year without having the hassle of changing a thing! Brilliant!

Service is great - we get Teleport Replay for free - access to a selection of the most popular shows on BBC & some cable channels in the past week to watch anytime we want, and we just got a free upgrade from 512kb to 2meg broadband.

Seems Telewest are desperate to keep their existing customers having spent a fortune on infrastructure & fitting the kit in each house.

My advice to all you lot on Telewest is to ring up and see what they can offer you.

Try calling the Gateshead call centre direct in 0800 073 0591 - they seemed to be really helpful.

    Good luck!

I have just phoned Telewest. All they would offer me was a down grade from 4mb connection to 2mb at the ordinary going rate -- no extra discount. I rang the 150 number. Does 0800 073 0591 get you through to someone different?

I was first offered 25% off about 4 months ago did not take asI couldnt keep up the pressure for more offers so they gave me 3 months at 25% until i could make my mind up Rang again they offered me 66p for 2 months I will wait another month or so and ring again. 66p saves around £70 better than the 25% for 12 months so glad I did'nt take it.
