Just canceled my Sky package, was paying £40 odd a month.
This was a legitimate cancelation & they offered 6 months half price! Try it! But we really saved and went to Freeview!
Thank God, NO more crap Sky TV"If toast always lands butter-side down, and cats always land on their feet,
what happens if you strap toast on the back of a cat and drop it?"0 -

The latest offer doing it this way is 6 months half price quoting EASTER. this offer is suppose to finish on the 18th may

as the phone line has been unplugged as far as they are concerned im disconnected i think ..or hope
only thing i'll miss is the sky+ features
No they can't. The same happened to me. Luck plays a factor, but it will run for a few months typically. I made sure I switched the box off when I wasn't watching it , just in case they sent a cancellation signal. Eventually though I understand the way it works is it won't get a new "keep me alive" signal, so it will go eventually.0 -

Just been browsing this thread...
So I'm on sky/movies/all mixes/sky+ which I think is 42.50 pcm. I can stop sport -> 36, but seems like there's possibilities of 3 months free or 25% off for 12 months.
Before I call to try my luck, are the cancellations dept open Sundays, or am I advised to call during certain times to maximise the chance of a decent offer during the call? What goes around - comes around
give lots and you will always recieve lots0 -

Hi Planetf1, yes they are open sundays.
I had an operation last october and have been off sick for 6 months on staturory sick pay, and have accumalated some bills so decided sky had to go,we were on the £21 package plus the movies total £36 per month
upon cancelling they offered me the half price deal so I said the wife and I would talk about it, I phoned up again today to cancel and was told I would have to pay the £36 pounds to cancel but they could offer me for next months £36 pounds and less the movies but some channels from the £21 package ie discovery for the next four months for free and then £7-50 for 2 more months, be firm with them as you can see we have some basic channels for £7-50 per month for six months :j0 -
Hi
Thanks for that info I have just rang sky on 0800 5875707 they asked me to press the star butten twice but I did not, then they asked me again and I did not, I just waited for about twenty seconds and I was put through. (say no to 0870).0 -
chipbeck wrote:I got two sky + boxes fitted in December (£98 for the pair) but it took them 6 visits to get them sorted. This being the case I complained and they gave me my first three months free, which I thought was reasonable. Anyway they now want me to start paying the £52 a month I agreed from the outset. So I rang customer services and told the nice asian lady that I was offered 3 months half price when I signed up and that the initial three free months they gave me had nothing to do with this. She said she couldn't do anything about it so I got her to talk to her supervisor. Result is another three months at half price. I can't wait for July to ring em again.
I was also messed about and took 5 boxes to sort me out and had 3 months half price. Beat me again. Will try it now Thanks0
