Ah i was not offered 3 months half price when i signed up as had the box for £49.
  • Spoke to some mean blighter at Telewest on Saturday. Told him that I wanted TV drive, but that they were too expensive, I could go to Sky for cheaper...

He basically told me to go on then!
But today SUCCESS!! After being told that I could have TV Drive without the phone and broadband from telwest for the same price, I said I'd do that. They passed me through to "Customer Retention". After telling the lovely ruth that

    (1) I'd done my research, and the Talk Talk TV Drive combo was the cheapest around (21 + 35) for the best package.

    (2) Id been with Telewest for a long time, and didnt want to leave... but I cant see any reason to stay!

    (3) I've bought my HD telly (Freemans 32" Samsung, £630! Lovely! see HERE ) and realllllllly want HD tv

I got my upgrade for £2.50 extra a month...

I had Essential Package (c.50 channels), 4mb broadband for 47.50
I've now got SUPREME package (c.120 channels) + TVDRIVE, and 4mb broadband for 50.

And the wife need never know.... MWAHAHAHAHA :T :T :T

Can anyone advise me on the following:

Am moving home in a couple of days and am an existing sky customer on £21 per month package. Am subscribed under my name. Would like to upgrade to sky+ at new address. Am worried about phoning sky to transfer my subscription as once I give them my new address I'm risking them not offering me any discounts for threatening to cancel. Should I get my other half (who has a diff surname) to register as a new customer at our new address to nab a half price deal then cancel my old subscription?

Also can anyone please tell me whether our existing viewing card will work at our new address (as there's a dish already at the new house) without having to notify sky as we'll have the same phone number just a diff address? This is assuming we can connect the box up ourselves that is.

    Any advice much appreciated, thanks

Got Escalations department to send out a Special care engineer to look at my setup; he placed the box, changed the LNB for a quad; pretty sure if i had a spare box [he wouldnt let me keep the one he replaced] he'd a installed the wiring for a 2nd box upstairs as he kept saying the quad looked lonely with only 1 wire....

Yes the best deal is to cancel and let your subscription run out then the day it gets turned off phone them up and ask to come back.
The latest offer doing it this way is 6 months half price quoting EASTER. this offer is suppose to finish on the 18th may

Just tried ringing sky and quoting 'easter' but it wasn't accepted. They said they are randomly writing to people with a letter which provides an offer code which is made up of letters and numbers.

does anyone have a code and also do you have to sign up for 12 months?

Can anyone help me with this question?

Is it possible just to subscribe to the Sky Sports channels via Telewest without subscribing to one of their channel 'packages'?

They keep raising the prices on the phone and I think the Broadband service is too expensive - £25 for 4Mb

I would be happy with BT + 1899, Freeview + say Wanadoo broadband or similar, but I would really miss Sky Sports if we completely dispensed with TW.

    Any ideas appreciated!

    Thanks

    Steve

    Quick question,

My twelve months with sky + is about up. I am on the even movie channels and sports 2,3 package at £32. If I do the who its too expensive, I want to cancel move to freeview etc, will I be offered the half price for three months on this package keeping sky + option as they in theory could they charge the £10 a month to have sky + on top of the package?

I've had my phone, TV and just recently subscribed to broadband with NTL. When I first signed up for the broadband I asked them to "do me a deal" and straight away they reduced the monthly subscription by £8.50 per month for the life I'm with them.

Just recently I decided to phone them and ask if they could reduce my TV pacakage as Sky are offering Sports + family channels for £36 per month. Straight away without threatening to leave or getting "tough" they reduced it by £8.50 a month for 6 months.

I also periodically call them and ask if they can give me a discount, which they do, I think last time I had free phone package worth £14.50 for a month!!
