As an existing subscriber I'm looking to have multi-room installed. The Sky website is showing this as costing £49, for the box, plus an extra £10 per month subscription.
Is anyone aware if there is a better offer available?
  • Had a call from Sky on Friday evening. I had already cancelled my subscription in March. They basically offered my 6 months half price or 3 months half price plus a £50 Argos voucher. I was originally paying £21, but at £10.50 for 3 months plus a £50 voucher I snapped their hand off. Will still cancel in the 3rd month though.

i have the 25% off for 12 months but its not a new contract, its also more expensive than having half price for 3 months, but easier as you dont have to ring them every 2 months!

I think you should check as SKY have told me that the 25% off offer is f
or a year and you are tied into another 12months

    Hello everybody

I have the 25% off sky world for 12 months and the guy i spoke to told me it was nt a new contract, only that if i changed my package within the year i will lose the offer. He also said if i phoned within 7 days (cooling off period) i should be able to get an offer on sky +, when put through to the right department of course. Quite interesting really h said he could nt give two offers in a day so just told me to phone back within a week and follow the usual drill.

    Hope that helps people

I am about to see what I can get from them as my contract ends on 5th April.

One question I do have, relating to the TV guide Sky send out....is it stoppable and are we charged for it as an element of the package price?

There is an indication with the April issue that it costs £2 (is at the bottom of the bit of paper with your address on it).

I've always wondered whether this is a cost that can be cut out or not...I'm sure others have asked but I will never locate the post, so I help someone can answer it for me.

I answered a telephone call from sky in December, a courtesy call and the guy said because I had given them my time I could have 3 months half price. The discount would start in January though, when January came I was billed for the full £52.50 but then in Feb only £10.63 was taken, so they had realised.

However I rang them after my March bill and said I wanted to cancel due to financial circumstances. The guy said I had just recieved a discount for 3 months, I acted soft and said that I was billed full in Jan and rang up to complain but got nowhere.

Anyway he explained all debits that had been taken and I said that I had not evenn noticed the discounts so was in no position to carry on with Sky and he gave me another 3 months half price nad my next bill will be only £13.73!

  • We are with telewest. We phoned them to cancel our TV package with them as we told them we could get it cheaper with a set top box and they cancelled our service! On Christmas Eve we were cut off! I was expecting them to call us back to make us an offer but they didn't so we had to eat humble pie in order to let the kids watch their favourite TV channels!

Maybe it was because it was Christmas and they didn't really care but be aware that it doesn't always work in your favour. As long as you're prepared to eat a little humble pie and be very nice to them it isn't a problem. They just re-connect you straight away!
