Rang Sky today, as we're a bit skint too.. Well We really wanted sky + and a multiroom box.
So I rung them, was nice to the man i spoke too.... He said sky multiroom would be £10 extra a month, I then asked about sky + and got cut off!!
So i rung back, got speaking to another man who quoted £110 + a £10 a month?!?!?!?!?!? But just as the man was rambling on the phone, the other phone went! It was the nice man who offered me at just £10 a month.....
Flirted a bit, as you do! Always like to get men on the phone! Told him how nice he was ringing me back, and was far more pleasant than the other man that I'd just hung up on! Mentioned Sky + and he said because we're in a digital switchover area (isnt everyone?!?!) That i could have sky+ at £49.
Installation at £60 and multiroom at £10 a month.
Got cut off again
Rung back, by this time i was in the car.... spoke to a lady called natallie, who i couldn't quite understand, who said i could have the same offer. But instead of having multiroom at £10, it would be £5 a month!!
GET in!
Installation booked for SatWell impressed. No free install, but at least we'll have sky+ and another box!!

this staff member from Virgin Media's "Retention Department" kept on telling my self to "hold on a minute" in order to let her explain, she frequently did not want me to finish my sentence so that she can start explaining. Is this really appropriate, she could have, at least have the courtesy of saying please or wait till Im finish rather than interrupting.
I do appreciate it is not her fault about the pricing. However, I feel as though she is treating me like a 10 year kid because she said "im not going to argue over these silly points" with all the words in the english dictionary, she could have chosen more appropriate words. She is basically trying to say that I'm silly. I said I am going to cancel the subscription and she seem to didn't care at all because she said she can do it now and also referred me to the virgin website. Looks like Richard Branson's Virgin ethos of "good customer service" isn't living up to it standards, as staff aren't able to address customers properly. I wasn't being abusive nor nasty, Virgin can always check back on their call records. I suppose this is only a minor problem but I don't appreciate being treated like a kid, is it because of my young voice? Or am I just being to sensitive?
I currently pay £45.75 (including grand triple discount £14) exclude telephone calls
which includes TV:XL, broadband : 10mb and phone: M
Wat shuld i do? shuld i just switch my tv to sky tv and keep phone and broadband with virgin? wuld dat mean my grand triple discount that i haggled last year will not longer be there0 -
We are having Sky HD installed next saturday for £49 + £10 installation and £5 a month for the first 6 months. My hubby went through to the cancellations department and moaned that we had been loyal customers for years on full package, but still only had a basic box, also mentioned considering Freesat instead. He had to haggle a bit for the £5 monthly fee though. He rang quite late in the day, I don't know if that made any difference.Well I can't stand by the side
And watch this life pass me by

Hi all,
Any advice greatly appreciated!
I was interested in getting Sky HD and was persuaded by their £75 box offer.
i went onto the website and checked what it would cost me and it said if i upgraded (was Sky+ customer) it would be £30 a month (was paying £40). Thought that was a great special deal like what they did with Sky+, so purchased.
I recieved a letter in the post saying that my monthly cost would be £30 a month ago (Sky+ was installed about a month ago now), but yesterday i recieved an identical letter but with different amounts. It said it would be £50 a month, and would be collecting £50 each month from me.
Now, i called them about this and they said that £50 is the price and not £30 and it must have been an error on the website. But i signed up to an agreement to pay Sky only £30 a month! last night they wouldnt budge and were saying that its £50. I cant afford to pay £50, i only upgraded as thought i was getting a good deal at £30.
Ive been a top end customer for quite a few years, and although its their error i feel very let down that their not really willing to help out or offer anything to rectify the situation.
Anyone have any advice on what i can do??0 -
Hi
We have been a sky customer for well over 10 years, hubby rang them last night to cancel our sky for the bedroom, (been costing us £10 amonth extra on top of our usual which is the £38 package, we dont have sports), got up this morning and they have cancelled all of our package, all we can get now are the "free" channels, if we dont phone them back how long will it be before they cut off the free channels, or will it stay like that forever. I cant phone as its in hubbys name and hes at work, phoned hubby and he is not pleased at all
thanks

Just rang sky after reading Shimmershelly, best I got was £99 HD free installation and £30 credit off my bill, so cost me £69 wil have it put in January 12th 2009. Wanted half price for 6 months but told that is only available to people who already have it...... told her didn't believe her, but wouldn't budge.0

I'd like to buy sky+HD on line to get the £15 credit.
It insists I have to pay £10 per month multi room which I dont need, and another £10 per month HD plus installation plus the cost of the box. The expense is ridiculuous. Does any one know a cheaper way of one touch recording? We are in the countryside and can't get cable.
Thanks0 -
I have been with Virgin for just under a year so I called them to see what they can offer me for the next 12 months.
I was on M broadband, M Phone and XL TV. This was a 3 for £30 but with my call costs on to I was regularly paying between £35 and £42. I wanted L breadband, L phone and L TV. I was prepaired to pay £35.
Straight away they offered me a deal that cost £41.45. This was L broadband (10mb), L phone (evenings & weekends) and L TV.
I was quite pleased with this but tried a little harder. In the end I got it down to £37.75 and had L broadband, L phone and XL TV a free wireless router.
I was also please that they have upgraded all the services now even though my contract doesn't expire for another 3 weeks. I was surfing the net at 10mb by the time I hung the phone up.0
