i just rang to cancell stuck to my guns and they cancelled now i am gutted lol they offered £49 sky plus plus the £30 installation charge x

I'm in the same boat as you - see my previous posts. I spoke with a guy recently who said its best to wait until your account has actually cancelled and then call up as they can actually do you a deal.

I've got to wait until next week to get it sorted out though

To add it go to Services then add channels (4) plug in the options above - then search - select 6335 then yellow button to add then select to save.

You can then access it by going to services then choose 6-other channels

I called them tonight to cancel. (After 3 cutoffs / no answers and 1 hr)
Been with them for over 8 years. Had the full package (inc multiroom) with them from joining (had sky+when it first came out) and for the last year had the full package inc HD from them.
Told them that Virgin Media could do me a package with better BB for £20 cheaper, so thats why I was cancelling. After basically slagging them off and me not listening, he said that I was on the 30 day cancellation.
My thinking is, fine, if they don't want my custom I'll take it to someone who does!!

hi all, i currently have sky full package for normall 47 quid a month, and 3 for 35 quid virgin media ( for broadband and phone). i want all with one provider so i called sky and was told id pay another 10.50 for basic BT phone line, and basic broad band was free. i then called virgin to cancel and they offered:
XL package plus sky movies and sky sports, standard phone and broadband, wireless router, extra box in our bedroom, and V+ (£30 inst) for £62 a month. Im happy with this, may not be the best but im happy.

called sky to cancel and they matched it, charging £5 for multiroom instead of £10, and offering sky+ box for £49 no inst fee.

Ive still opted to cancel and go fully with virgin as its easier, already got box in our bedroom, dont need to call bt(not that hard i agree!), and sky plus box is only guaranteed for 12 months. plus they didnt try to beat the offer so i thought ...rollox!

I listened intently to everything apart from the slagging off of the competition!
If they want me to leave then that is fine, it will save me £20 a month.

Have you heard that you will be able to purchase a Humax Freesat + box very shortly? It will work the same as Sky + but without the subscription.
Price of box inc. H.D. to be announced but I guess £200 would see me changing.

I've been with sky for years and am on all 6 mixes plus movies with sky+ and free broadband for 38 quid. Just phoned up the customer service department and told them how skint I am and asked for any way I could reduce my package cost. The nice lady said I could lose movies and get the package down to 22 a month. I uummmddd and arrrddd a bit and then she had another tap on her computer and came back with a deal to stay on exactly what I'm on now but for only 25 for the next 3 months:D
There's no tie in and I can still drop packages, leave or do whatever I want while the deal is on.
Not bad for 3 minutes on the phone (shame its a 08 number though:mad: )
