The web-link she posted seems to indicate that this offer is only if you take multiroom at £10 a month which I don't want.

Anyone else been told by a Sky operative what hunnybugs was told?..ie £89 whether you take multiroom or not.
  • She definitely told me that was the case because I said I only had one tv and asked if it was still the same price. She said yes, that was right.
  • I had only the family pack at £21. I dont have Sky+. I told her to cancel my subscription as I was getting Freeview and she offered to give me the full package for half price. I then said my partner was wanting to know a bit more about Sky+ and how much it costs etc and that is what she told me. I dont know if the price would have went down any more had I haggled because she said that was the price they were doing to all customers anyway.

    Runs along the following lines:

    1. My reason for calling is to cancel subscription as I must reduce my household bills.
    2. Usually they transfer your call to a "retentions department". Let them make you an offer.
    3. Tell them you love having Sky but you have agreed with your spouse to cut bills so have considered Freeview as a compromise.
    4. Hopefully they will improve on the first offer - if not just ask.
    5. Say the offer is good, but you will have to check with spouse.
    6. Call back and say you're sorry but you could not agree the figures with your husband/wife. Again, if they don't offer a better deal ask for one politely, as you will "have to cancel unless you get an improved deal" (ie half price for 4 months).
    7. You can generally tell when they have gone as far as they can, remember the golden rule... BE NICE!

Sorry I didn't see your post earlier, hope it's not too late.

    Good Luck.
  • I'll second that - exactly the tactics I used, plus the one about being miffed (in the nicest possible way, try to get to person you're talking to on your side) that everywhere you look you see half price offers for new customers, and how you feel like you're being penalised for your loyalty.

    Good luck!

Can someone tell me if i order a sky+ installation for £89 and i don't have multiroom can i use a digisender to effectively watch 2 different channels anyway?

Also will i be contracted to the same price plan for 12months with multiroom?

Currently i have the sports package.
Fortune's always hiding, I've looked everywhere......

No, there is only one deocder in the box so it can only play one stream at a time
  • A friend is paying for the family package at the minute, she says that she does not watch most of it. If she cancels her package and takes her viewing card out, will she just get the free channels and not have to pay Sky a monthly fee? And if she does this will they come and take her equipment away?

    Thanks in advance.
