  • remove previous digital coax cables if theyve been cut, buy enough digital coax from local hardware store to run from dish to wereever u want ur box. + 2 connectors, fit connectors to ends , one end in lmb on dish and tack the other end to wall and run it werever you want it...simple.

    lots of options now.

another is to phone sly i mean sky and say youve just moved in and want sky tv and with there free installs theyll sort it.

Being Welsh and living in London we listen to BBC Wales via Sky. Over the last few months the signal has been breaking up and the sound squelching (?).
I saw on the bbc one of the bosses being interviewed regarding complaints from satalite customers saying the signal was poor only on BBC channels.
He said they had re-organised the signal and this had exposed a weakness in the installation of the sat systems !!!! and it was the customers fault

Called sky to complain and they wanted £65 to send an engineer out. Cut a long story short I threatened to cancel (I have had Sky+ for 15 months) as they said I was out of contract. Put through to cancelations who first tried to get me to pay £35 (1/2 price) but stuck to my guns and they came out for free :T .

Engineer came out and changed the dish (he said it wasn't canged when they put Sky+ in and it should have been).
    System now works fine.
Don't pay to get a call out threaten to cancel......

called Sky to cancel today, wanting to get a deal on HD and tried to compared it to virgin where you dont pay the extra monthly subscription (on one package only) . The person on the other end of the phone said you dont get all of the sports channels, I said I dont watch them. She said why do you want HD then, because I have an HD TV, well she said with virgin you dont get as many channels, so I said thats ok with Sky I would watch BBC HD only nothing on channel 4 or sky 1 HD that we watch. Well then its not worth getting it then she said.

I asked for the cost of a HD box, installed the cost was £309 plus £10 per month subscription(£75 with virgin) for the box no offers at all, when I said I couldnt justify it she said you could if you watched all of the channels!

And with that I was cancelled, will make do with normal freeview

I called Sky today, saying that I wanted to cancel because I wanted to change to Freesat so I could use a PVR. I was offered Sky+ for £49.99.

I was quite happy with that and will be staying with Sky - have been more that happy with their service in the previous 18 months so see no real reason to change.

I called up Sky CS to cancel my Sky Sports for the summer, the CSA made as weak attempt at telling me there was still football on the Sports channels.

She then said it would only save me £7/month. I was toying with whether to ditch the Movies as well, I never really get time to watch them, so I asked if I would save a lot more without Movies, so she said this would reduce it by £24/month.

So I ended up dropping both, way to go Sky, you made my mind up to save myself £24 instead of making the offer of traditional reduced Sky Sports cost over the summer.

I'm sure the annual above inflation Sky prices rises will come in September, so it will be even more of a rip off then.

Today I gt a free upgrade to sky+. I told them I wanted to cancel sky as I saw that new customers were getting a free sky + box whereas exsisting customers had to pay. Also told them that my friend got a free ungrade to sky + and that it was not fair that this was being given to only selected customers. The guy at sky told me that he would reduce the price of the sky + box and that was all he could do. I told him again that it was unfair that only select exsisting customers and new customers could get a free sky + box. When I told him I wanted to make a complaint he said could give me a sky + box for free!! :j

I was a sky customer for many years but having bought a new plasma HD TV last month after my old set expired I decided to look at upgrading to a HD reciever. Sky despite me being on the full sky world package had no interest in doing a deal on a HD upgrade and wouldnt even offer the deals available to new customers such as £99 plus £30 instalation being offered through Comet a couple of months ago. As a result I cancelled my sky contract and am making do with freeview which is built in to my new TV set. with the launch of freesat I am wondering about buying a humax hd reciever for £149 (I already have a working dish and lnb installed) but my only concern is that if my resolve weakens come the next premiership season I may re subscribe to sky sports. Also the next generation freeview boxes are said to have sky + type hard disks which would make my dvd and video recorder obsolite. Any thoughts ?
