Is this good or should I push for more? She's calling me back on Thursday and says Ihave to hold all questions until then so that she gets the commission.
All opinions appreciated!!
Hiya,
This is what I was offered today as a new customer. Did you get anywhere with the free sky + box??0 -

I used this site to determine if it was worth keeping our Sky package and the best way to get a better deal.
I noticed that a number of people had posted earlier this month saying that Sky seemed unwilling to offer any deals and were uninterested in retaining existing customers, but they seemed to have changed their approach.
I didn't even need to mention cancelling, just that I wanted to scale back our package and they immediately offered 3 months at half price.
So if you didn't get anywhere a few weeks back, perhaps now is a better time to try.
Hope this helps.
Now that's the news i like to hear with my 12 month contract expiring in the next couple of weeks.:T0 -
Wonder if anyone has any advice about how to deal with Sky as am having a mare with them at the mo?
Have been on their full tv package for 5 years and phoned them last week asking about taking out Talk/Broadband and upgrading to HD. Very nice lady told me that if I took out all three they would
waive the broadband set up fee
charge £10 a month line rental and give me 6 months free anytime calls
charge £149 for the hd box plus £60 installation (which would incl moving my existing box to another room)
charge £10 a month for the hd
charge £5 for 8mb broadband
credit my a/c with £20
Phoned back yesterday to sign up and was told by someone else that this was basically rubbish and no one would have been authorised to give me these prices and the hd box was now £199 plus £60 installation.
I phoned customer services (ha!) today and was told all I could do was write a letter of complaint to head office. I said to her that I was willing to sign up to all of it at the original price and assumed they'd be over the moon but she couldn't have cared less.
I don't want to pay the extra out of principle but I do want HD. Are they just playing games? Should I phone again?
Thanks0 -

For all those fed up with Sky, Freesat from the BBC seems to be only a few days away from launch now.
Apparently all you have to do is hook up one of these new boxes to your sky dish and hey presto, freebee channels and HD stuff too. That's what I've been waiting for :-)
Good site here for keeping up on what's happening with the service.

Or you could just use any Sky box without a card. Channels would be the same.
For clarification - the anticipated BBC / ITV Freesat service does not provide any channels that are not also available using any Sky digibox without a card, free.
There is no need to buy a new box unless your Sky box is broken.0 -
It's the HD stuff I'm after. :-)0

Yup, FTA HD channels are also available on a SkyHD box, sans card. Deciding factor in that case, realistically, is the price of a Freesat HD box compared with a SkyHD box on eBay.
And to be honest, even if a SkyHD box is slightly more expensive than a Freesat HD box, I'd still go with the former myself, just in case I ever wanted to subscribe to Sky in future. With a Freesat HD box one wouldn't have that option.0 -
Don't you need a subscription for a SKY HD box to watch BBC HD? I thought you had to pay a subscription for a SKY PLus box to work.0
