As long as you subscribe to a least one TVmix(£16/month) Sky+ features are free. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

I was lead to believe although the Sky+ recording function is free if you subscribe to a TV package, if you want to keep the facility when you no longer subscribe to a package you then need to pay £10 / month for it. Some Sky CS aren't aware you can keep Sky+ recording without TV subscription.
i didn't think you could until i cancelled and was pleasantly surprised!!Never pass up the opportunity to take a pee!:p0 -
Remember..if you do cancel and you still have recordings on sky+ (from channels that are not free like bbc,bbc2,bbc3 etc) then you will lose these recording.. so make sure you watch you programmes recorded before you cancel..sky haven been clever like that!!0

Right guy's i have today rang up to cancel as i was fed up of not having the newer style box to get anytime on sky and because we pay £70 a month on the sky phone, multiroom and the full mix i was pretty peed of to say the least when they said they can let me have a new style Sky+ box with installation for £209 pmpl, so i said not being funny but no thanks just put me through to canelations, and surprise surprise they have now dropped the new box price with installation a brand new box not reconditioned with full instal on saturday and relocating our old sky +box upstairs for £150.
What do you think have i been had lol or is this genuine a good offer from sky?
Thanks0 -
It is a well known fact that if you phone up threatening to cancel Sky the cancellations department will offer you three months half price or something similar. Never pay for the maintence of the box because you can get them to fix it for free if it stops working and you phone up to cancel because of this. You may have to say you can't afford it or something. You do have to be firm in your intention to cancel, and slip into the conversation descretly what you are willing to accept and know what you are talking about. Of course you might get a miserable blighter who doesn't offer you anything. However every single time I have phoned up to cancel sky, they have offered me three months half price (about 5 times). I now no longer subscribe to sky but they have sent me a letter offering me three months half price if I re-subscribe for three months - trying to get their christmas figures up methinks."Lifes a climb - but the view up in fantastic"

Woopee. My husband bought one of these devices in B&Q for about £14.99 which tell you the best direction to receive a signal and lo and behold our satellite is back up and running. I was beginning to lose faith as he had bought a replacement LND (or whatever) and that didn't make any difference. We even bought a freeview box but couldn't pick up ITV2. I was even forced to watch Corrie the other night ..... he knew then the situation was desperate! Thanks to all you guys who troubleshooted for me.0

Its all gone!
As previously posted...Sky+ and Multiroom cancelled from 21st Jan.
It went OFF at midnight. We can still use the Sky remote control and access all the free channels (as someone said) and get the program listings and sypnosis etc....but thats all folks!
Fair enough! Will see how we 'manage' for a while!
As I said before, its probably the Sky+ facilities we are going to miss most.
(especially 'R' Record!)
No phone call from Sky asking us to stay!!!makinprogress0 -
Having had just about enough of Virgin Media's Customer 'Service' (A misnomer if ever there was one!) I have a disconnection date and am now needing to sign up for Sky. We don't have a BT line in but the man at Sky said that they will refund the connection fee using a form that they send. What I would like to know is...is it possible to claim this refund and use Quidco or any other sign up offers? Or would this only be available over the phone with no other offer?

Hi i wonder if anyone can help me, i have followed your guidelines and advice and phoned sky up 20 mins ago to cancel, and all the man offered me was a reduction in my package taking away a lot of my channels, i was adamant i wanted to cancel (even tho i dont)! but he never offered me a deal and certainly didnt offer me half price for 3 months, i have the full sky package, sports movies broadband phone, and an extra sports channel which costs 6 pounds per month, i said i would think about the reduction in the package and get back to them, does anyone have any ideas of what i should say when i ring them back to help me get my sky at half price, i have also been a sky customer for 4 years on the full package with extra channel, and 12 months on broadband and phone. thanks.0
