Other than the 200 or so free TV and radio stations you get anyway as they are Free To Air so any box and dish will pick them up without subscription.
Though when I was with Sky, I've had free Sports and Film channels a few times.
Free SKY channels then!!! (other than what they give to freeview anyway) £15 per month for the base package really isnt worth the money!!:mad:Never pass up the opportunity to take a pee!:p0 -

BT Vision is what I have now all the freeview channels and TV and films on demand in addition it has all the SKY+ features and its free with a charge for downloads.
I cancelled sky on the full package + multi room its made me realise what garbage is on Sky and how to cough up nearly £700 a year to pay for this priviledge.0 -
Hello Again,
Getting a bit confused over what to do.
I am about to become a single mum ( more champagne corks than violin strings!!!) and will be moving into rented accomodation soon.
I can see that there is no aerial at the property so freeview and terrestrial is out the question.
Therefore i have to decide between Sky and Virgin. We have Sky + now and I like it but as my soon-to-be ex has sky sports we pay 36 quid. I think I will just have the 2 mixes. Am interested in having broadband and phone but need to cost the bt line price.
Now to V+..Is it as good. More cost effective. Better value?
BTW I am not bothered about the SKY ONE issue as I never watch it.
Thanking you muchly in advance

We are with virgin and managed to get a really good deal with v+ but since others have tried to get on our deal and couldn't.
We went with them as we were not prepared to pay BT's line connection as the previous tennants had been with bt and all they had to do was flick the switch. Anyhow about 2 weeks after virgin was installed we had some door to door blokes from sky call round and they said sky will now reimberse the 125 quid bt connection fee so might be worth ppl asking for it.0 -
I can confirm sky are refunding the bt instalation charge back to your sky account as we have just done this, as previously this was a stumbling block about going back to bt but not now;)
Also abit of advice to those trying for a deal with virgin dont give up but ask for a mac code as we tried calling both customer services and customer relations and both wernt very helpfull but when i called and asked for mac code (i didnt need it but i didnt know) the guy i then spoke to offered me what i had been looking for but it was too late as we had went ahead with the sky offer and had it installed. The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -
I have just contacted Sky using this number 01506 421813 I got straight through to an operator. I just thought that his could be useful although it is not a free call if you have mobile minutes to use (as I did) it could work out cheaper than the usual 0870 route.0

Slightly off at a tangent, but any help apprecaited
When i moved into the property, they had left the dish up, so I bought a second hand sky plus box.
Joined up with sky at weekend and everything was working fine, after the highwinds we have had the aerial lead has come loose from the dish. Unfortunately our ladder does not quite reach, do you think sky will come out and re-attach the aerial, if so will it be free, small charge or mega expensive??

£65 for Sky to do it.
Might be cheaper to get a professional satellite dish / equipment installer to do the job. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... It's no one not noone, It's a lot not alot, It's got not gotten... Panini is the plural of panino - there is no S!!(OK my English isn't great, the sciences, maths & IT are my strong points!)0 -
