  • Just heard from a friendly sales girl that V+ box is dropping in price to £75 tomorrow so don't go and order one today...
  • Just broke off from Sky after being a customer for years.

Been paying £55 a month including multi room but recently bought a tV with Freeview built in I realised how many times Sky plays repeats and how the movie channel has gone down hill, I only watch RL on sport and the £660 I will save in not paying Sky will go a long way towards other things.

I was on the blower for less than 5 minutes no offers were made not that I was after any its good to be free!

I just want to say a big thank you to Martin and others who have posted here .

After reading some of this thread I rang Virgin as our 3 for £30 deal expired
two months ago and the cost had risen to £34-50 plus calls ( not many) I
mentioned that friends had said I seemed to be paying to much for my broadband compared to them and that I only wanted a basic service. They said if they took off two channels from the tv, then that would be free and then they could offer me phone and 2mb broadband for £20 on a contract for 12 months. I realise this will not suit many people but I am very happy to be saving £14-50 every month.
  • What is the reliability of Sky broadband now, please?

It seems they may be getting wise to the emails, yes. After using the email templates a relative of mine was promised Sky+ for £49 but when Sky rang to arrange the appointment she was out. When she rang them back they said that the deal isn't showing up on her account, so it doesn't look like she's going to get it now

If you have a friend who hasn't got Sky and you can persuade them to get it, you will both get a Sky+ box free. Offer expires 30th November: http://friend.sky.com/

I'm going to get Sky+ for my parents for Christmas - they've never had Sky before. I was intending to go through Quidco to get the cash back (as that is basically the only way I can afford to get this for them) but then I saw that introduce a friend offer and wondered if I could do both (or am I just incredibly greedy?) So - if I sent off that email thing could we then go through the Quidco link or does that take you to a different place so that it is one offer or the other? Does anyone know?

Right - I've thought about this and I suspect that you can't do both as that would be one subscriber coming from 2 different referrals. However - I'm now thinking that the friend referral would be better as the charges are £149 for the box and £30 set up with £135 cashback, so net cost £44 versus free sky+ box and £30 set up, not to mention either a free sky+ box for us or £50 M&S vouchers. Or am I getting confused (happens a lot!)

    Answers appreciated.

    Thanks
