I cancelled my sky and its due togo off tomorrow, I never asked for freesat do you think I should call them to tell them I want to stay on freesat as I may start it up again later?[/QUOTE
You will still get the freesat channels after your cancellation goes through. If you get problems all you will have to do is phone and ask for a freesat card which used to be £10 but I think it may have gone up to £20 - there will be no further charge. Your box should still work and will be able to watch all the free channels.0 -
Thanx I dont know if its best to just ring up anyway to make sure before tomorrow or just leave it and see then but I'd rather not havre to pay the £10-£20 though. Does anyone know the number I've lost it?Thanx

If it was me I would leave it and see what happens as your digibox will still work and you will have your free channels. I don't know the number, but on the ISP forum here they say that the free phone number to sky no longer works.0
-
Well if the free number doesnt work anymore thatsbad news because there are horrendous waits on the phone with them normally and I wouldnt wait on the 0845 like that.
Yeah I'll wait then, my daughter has cancelled loads of times and still had the free channels. I'll just keep my fingers crossed
If they do take it off I still have an ntl cable downstairs that sends the signal so I'll use that but it will put meoff totaly going back to skyThanx

This was the number they said doesn't work anymore 0800 0512595, so I really don't know. If you find at some point that your free channels do not work, all you will need is to get another card to put in your digibox and then it will work again.
Good luck - hope you don't have any problems.0 -
I'm looking at switching from Virgin to Sky, have been quoted tv (plus sports and movies), free evening and weekend calls, and 2meg broadband for £43.50. i will then have to pay bt £11 for line rental.
However I get all of the above for £44 from Virgin, enquired about possibility of adding in Sky +( really like the look of this), but they still wanted to charge me.
Anyone got any advice (like sky as they can offer football first and different champions league games)?0 -
I was on a standard package XL tv, phone, 2mb broadband - costing me 50 squid a month (plus calls). I asked for the 3 for 30 deal and he gave it to me right away - same package - just 20 quid a month less. Can't argue with that.
I have been a customer for over 10 years though - in the many incarnations that this cable company has been in - first Bell Cablemedia, then Cable & Wireless, then NTL, now Virgin.0 -
Hi
Does anyone know how I can get the larger Sky + box ( 80 hours recording time) for nothing from from Sky?0 -
I was on Ntl before Virgin Media took over. Was considering moving to Sky and rang retentions on 0800 0529403 to discuss cancelling. Was offered to stay:
Broadband 2 MB
TVXL plus Sky sports
Phone; talk unlimited on evening and weekend.
V+ HD set-top box
Additional V set-top box
£67 a month for life I was told as long as I remain on this package. I said what I wanted and asked them to work out a price. I accepted this deal.0 -
Hello
Is there a way/offer to just receive discovery channel & maybe nat'l geographic, either sat or digi box with one off payment, not monthly fees.
No need for movies or sport etc etc.
Thanks0
