Your ex boss sounds like a right idiot. If he thinks he can suddenly do the work of three people (when he could not do it before) then he is in for a nasty shock.

Worse still, if he does not keep up to date on things like taxes, VAT etc , paying rates and bills he could end up in court!!!!

Sit back and enjoy the show. If he comes to you for help tell him you are now self employed and your hourly rate is £** plus extra for knowing his business inside out.

Just making lunch for DD and me , she goes back to uni at the weekend and I will miss her.

Might make turkey mince in the slow cooker for tea with potatoes or pasta to go with it.

Hugs to everybody having a tough time.

  • Troo - just thought of somewhere else, well else's really, how about places that cater for parties? Great if you'd forgotten a card and could just grab one when you got there, don't know if leisure centres and places would do it? What about privately owned play centres and farm visit places? Farm shops as well? Those pottery cafes that are springing up everywhere, card to go with the thing that the kids are painting for granny?

(((((Hugs))))) for everyone with troubles just now, health, family, or other things. There seem to be so many with problems of one sort or another.

I've also noticed how many people here have OH's who just don't seem to pull their weight. I feel so lucky on that front; Mr LW has never ever complained about being asked to do things, and is usually well ahead of me on obvious jobs. I guess it's because he lived alone for 12 years, but having seen the lengths some of you have to go to to get your families to help, I really appreciate having a good man.:smileyhea

I've had a bit of a run-in with Sainsburys; we went for some shopping at the weekend, I was unable to get a wheelchair trolley as they were chained up and a mile long queue at the customer services, so had to make do with a basket on my lap. That's do-able, but what really got me was that neither of the wide checkouts were manned, so I had to leave Mr LW with the shopping at a narrow aisle, while I whizzed through the wide one, to meet him the other side and pay for the groceries, much to the amusement of othr shoppers. Anyway, I emailed Sainsburys to say that this was unacceptable (third time it's happened!!) and they've apologised profusely, said they'd have words with the duty manager, and are going to send me a £10 voucher.;)

Uh, oh, I've waffled on a bit haven't I? Oh well, have a good day everyone.

  • Afternoon all.

*hugs to those who need them*

Well I woke up in a lot of pain this morning, damn stomach area...it's getting ridicolous over my ultrasound, no doctors even know when i'm going for it after ringing 6 times yesterday, so I'm trying again later!

After putting my cv on monster to try and help in the job finding process, I get a phone call so i get all excited, to find out it's for a finanical adviser, even though the woman claims to have read my cv...clearly she didn't..I did a theatre degree and I'm now looking for education based work placements, yep can see i'd be working with lots of children in a building society! *rolls eyes*

But little brother is really enjoying secondary school and wanting to stop dinners everyday as he is loving the choice of food, he's not much of a big eater so we are all wondering where this has appeared from lol!

Oh dear....rambled on a bit, I hope everyone is having a good day...it's actually not raining here for once!!

    Afternoon all,

Not too bad to-day here, bit of mist on and off, the big window/door swap is underway at present so not sure if they will finish it to-night. Dinner to-night is going to be stew/fish fingers/ pork chop to use up what we can in order to get old fridge freezer emptied before Tuesday when the other one arrives. Have spent half the morning on phone and internet looking for doors to match the ones we have, they are chestnut and the nearest we can get is oak but will not be too far off and will not be mixed up together. Need to do something about floor and wall tiles too, have been dithering between marmoleum ( type of lino which is supposed to be very good) and tiles for floor, think it will be tiles.

Hugs to all in need or want and congratulations to all who are celebrating.

Sistercas...do you have a dishwasher...if not I think that you need to withdraw all favours, including washing, ironing and food until you get one...OH rarely clears up after a meal, but he does cook, hang out/bring in clothes, clean the oven and other things that I don't have to spend time on...in between watching sport on tv of course!

Keep faffing about here whilst waiting for things in the oven to bake! Yes, had to put oven on, can't fit everything in the remoska, much as I love it! At least whilst I'm typing I can't pick at all the zillion cookies and cakes everywhere!

Marie - I am growing daily more jealous of your kitchen, it sounds as though it's going to be absolutely fabulous, pics please when it's all done! How is your oh now, recovering from the pleurisy (it was him i hope, well I don't hope he had it obviously?!)

Jo - hope you get your appointment sorted today.

Wolfy - sorry if I've made you sound like you should be shouting "power to the people", showing my age there, someone at work had no idea what I was on about the other day when i said it! Anyway, we have to keep our wide checkout manned, I work for Mr T (don't all hate me please!), and so do our local Asda. Hope Sainsburys take it seriously and sort it out, I can remember having a double buggy and that causing all sorts of difficulties, so it must affect lots of people.

    Candygirl,

Try not to worry so much and you will give yourself a heart attack! DD is well...ok she has pregnancy sickness which is rotten, but it will pass; whether or not she gets back with her OH is her decision so try to let it go.

With regard to your parents, you know that your father is very ill, worrying will only harm you and not help him; your mother is an adult and there is nothing you can do except nag her a bit...worrying will not help.

I hope that you won't be offended by the above, it is not intended to be offensive, nor am I adopting a 'holier than thou' attitude, I used to worry for Ireland and the world and it took me a long time of asking myself the question "what can I do about this" before I managed to convince myself that I was helping nobody, especially not me. I still worry at times about stupid things mostly but my life is a lot easier than it used to be!

Hugs to you, DD and your parents

LOL at "power to the people". Showing my age too I reckon!:rotfl:
I shall be checking up on Sainsbury's just as soon as I feel well enough to get Mr LW to take me; my £10 gift card just arrived in the post.;) :D
