    Candygirl,

Try not to worry so much and you will give yourself a heart attack! DD is well...ok she has pregnancy sickness which is rotten, but it will pass; whether or not she gets back with her OH is her decision so try to let it go.

With regard to your parents, you know that your father is very ill, worrying will only harm you and not help him; your mother is an adult and there is nothing you can do except nag her a bit...worrying will not help.

I hope that you won't be offended by the above, it is not intended to be offensive, nor am I adopting a 'holier than thou' attitude, I used to worry for Ireland and the world and it took me a long time of asking myself the question "what can I do about this" before I managed to convince myself that I was helping nobody, especially not me. I still worry at times about stupid things mostly but my life is a lot easier than it used to be!

Hugs to you, DD and your parents

    Marie

You're soooo right hun.I am a worry wart, and my BP has soared the past few days with it all.I am a very strong person deep down, but all this would try the strongest:o :o
Thanks for your advice, I really appreciate it :A :A

Had a call from DDs(14) school to say she had just been sick.

Explained DH was out with the car and I would have to get a taxi there and back.

Asked if they could put her in a taxi and I would pay when she got here (thought that way it was just one journey and she would get home quicker!)

Reply "Oh No you would have to arrange that for yourself."

School is 2 and a half miles away and there are hardly any taxis here - had to look up Yellow Pages and phone three firms before I could get someone!

Have just got her home and tucked up in bed with a hot water bottle. Her older sister has been helping.

I am just glad that I did not go out to York for the day as I had intended.

Troo - thanks lol! My oh used to work with the bloke who managed the accounts of Andrew Brownsword and the lady who drew all the animal cards, name's just gone out my brain, she made a fortune, it could be you next! Good luck, you def deserve it at the mo.

Wolfy - have you had a look on the If Things Get Harder thread, got some great idea for turkey legs - pie with white sauce, leeks and butter beans, and with gravy, frozen veg and stuffing balls. Apparently it also tastes like duck when hoisin sauce is added and it's popped into pancakes - def going to try this one! Anyway I was going to say that you could spend some of your voucher on a turkey leg, then when you are feeling good you could do a couple of pies and one could go in the freezer for a not so good day, just a thought cos you don't need to do too much to make pies (not that I'm suggesting you can't cook, I was just thinking of your mobility). Or you could just buy yourself a nice bottle of wine and some chocs and toast Mr S!

Candygirl - deep breaths, slow down, and I hope that your mum takes some advice soon, and that your dad's diabetes stabilises, and that your dd's sickness ends soon, has she tried those seasickness bands, my friend is swearing by hers at the mo.

Many thanks for the thought - but I'm a vegetarian!:p I do make most things from scratch, and have stuff available in the freezer for bad days.:o It's getting out of the house that's difficult, feeling well enough has to coincide with Mr LW not being at work, but don't worry, I'll make good use of the gift card. I'll probably treat us to some malt whisky, which is one of our treats in life.

  • Afternoon peeps!!

Sun is shining, have a line full of washing out drying and yesterday I finally did something I had been putting off for the last few months so today I finally have that black cloud gone.

jannieannie - enjoy your meal out
Joannasmum - Really sorry to hear about your husband, hope things get better soon
Kathy and Squiggly - i got my energy monitor this morning!! Just as I was about to email themand ask where it was. Can't wait to get started with it!
Squiggly - glad the DIY is becoming easier!! Well done!
PrincessP - hope you feel better later and your sons bloods have settled.
    sistercas - *hugs* to you
Troo - your boss obviously doesn't appreciate how great you are!
elona - hope your daughter feels better soon.. poor lil thing

I make really great quality home made cards too and it is really hard to get yourself known. I see a lot of cards out there that aren't half as good as mine and yet they have grabbed an outlet for them so I have to admire the business sense of the maker.. I guess I am more creative than business minded these days.:rotfl:

Had pasta for lunch and tonight it's corned beef quiche with new potatoes... can't wait, am feeling hungry already!

*Hugs* to all who need them and congrats to anyone celebrating today!

Oops! I'm veggie too, but my kids all eat meat! I'm making a pie for me at the weekend with quorn or soya just so I can put stuffing balls in it, I love stuffing - no rude comments ladies  ;):p

Malt whisky sounds like a plan, I like Talisker - tried it after reading a Rebus book whilst working in Edinburgh, lovely :D

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Lovely, any flyladies are particularly welcome, as need to clear everything up now! I can offer twinks, choc brownies, lemon drizzle cake, banana loaf, custard biscuits and lemon curd cake (not made this before and it smells lovely).

Def can recommend a moski (as I affectionately call him!), me and Kathy can lecture you to death about the reasons why you should get one! ;) Just going to throw some potatoes in it for cheesy jackets, actually if I can find a portion of mince and onions from the depths of the freezer I'll make the shepherds pie potatoes (Sammy Kaye recommended scooping out the potato from the skins, filling with the mince then popping the mash back on top - kids will love it).

  • Afternoon Guys!

Havent got much energy this afternoon and have been asleep since I got in nearly 3hrs ago, but I just wanted to say thanks for all the lovely messages.

I have just posted this weeks mealplans if anyone would like to join in.

The cleaners are here in the morning so the beds will need to be stripped when we get up as they come around 8.30am. The WM will also be on 2 times tomorrow too.

My helper who normally helps on a Monday couldnt come till yesterday as she couldnt get a sitter for her baby. I was a little upset as some of the jobs I had asked to be done hadnt been or not done properly and she left just after an hour and I pay her for 2.5hrs. I wasnt around as I was at the hospital so couldnt say anything. I have spoken to her about leaving early before but dont know what to do:confused: ....I am so unfortunate with my choice of helpers and I really am a nice person to work for:D

Anyway, too tired to worry about it today, so will have a think over the next couple of days.

    Hugs to all.

    Afternoon everyone,

I`m having a nice sit down for half an hour with a cup of tea and a turkish delight that i`ve just found - i bought it days ago and just discovered it in the bottom of a carrier bag :D

As soon as the wm had finished earlier the heavens opened so i cleaned down the airer that DH fetched from the garage and hung the washing on there, it`s actually sunny again now so i`ve put a few things out.

The liver and bacon casserole is in the slow cooker which i`ve just turned off, instead of the big salad that i had planned tonight we shall have some of this as i`ve felt hungry all day with the wonderful aroma from the kitchen, there are lots of tomatoes in it from the greenhouse :D

I tried a slice of the remoska terrine earlier and it`s very tasty so another sucess there, i have some rolls proving in it atm ready took cook soon for tomorrows sandwiches and i`ve made a big batch of tuna and onion mayo sandwich filling. If i have time later i shall make a cake.

I`ve spent a good hour and a half in the greenhouse thinning out the leaves on the tomato plants so that the air can circulate better and i`ve managed to reach quite a few nice ripe toms that i couldn`t reach before.
My Dsis paid a visit too so she took a bag home with her and she brought me a lovely bag of apples from her tree and some pears that someone at w&rk had given her so i need to look up some more recipes :D

I decided that as it`s so chilly at night that i needed to get some of the winter bedding out. The mattress topper has never been taken off the bed except to be washed this year as it was such a rubbish summer but now it has a big quilt underneath it so the bed will be extra snuggly.
I`ve also opened up the houndies new quilts and put the new covers on them that i`ve had stashed away so when i`ve finished cleaning the room they will have their winter beds too. I was going to wait until after the holiday but as the little oldie has started to eat like a horse and put weight on i guess he must be feeling the chill.

Squiddly - i`ve not even come close to starting with the drill today despite my best intentions this morning :o

Troo - What a PITA your ex boss seems, you will come out the winner i`ve no doubt!

Has anyone noticed the huge amount of wasps about of is it just our house that seems to be surrounded by the nasty little bu**ers?
Every time i open the bloomin back door one seems to fly in and i have to run outside :o earlier there were 2 in the kitchen and one in the living room.
I think that the cat took care of the one in the room but i had to wait ages for the other two to go out. I daren`t even open the dw now as one went in and i kicked the door shut, the dw went right back to the wall so i hope that all the pipes behind it are ok :o Yesterday the little houndie ran off as a wasp flew in as i had a pan in my hand and i was swinging it all over the place :o can you guess that i don`t like wasps :D

EEK! i`ve rambled for ages and i need to finish off the bedroom.
    Catch up later guys.

    PS ((((HUGS)))) for Candygirl
Planning on starting the GC again soon :p
