OS Daily Thursday 11th September

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Thursday 11th September. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything OS and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an OS natter. The more the merrier!

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem, we’re a laid back bunch here so you won’t hear any complaints. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Morning peeps

i`ve just let the houndies out in the garden and it seems dry so the wm is now on, i didn`t really have enough for a full load so i put it on a different program, hope that it stays dry now that i`ve done that otherwise i could have waited until tomorrow.

Thanks for all the good wishes for yesterday, you are all a lovely bunch of peeps :A

Well i woke up on the sofa at 4am, the last think that i can remember is Mr Sd asking me if i was going up to bed and thats a pretty vague memory so i must have been whacked, i`ve no idea what time that was but i`ll bet my bottom dollar that he fell asleep on here too :rotfl: We had taken the houndies for a walk and settled down to watch Inspector Lindley with a bottle of hm wine.:D

Today i have lots of cooking to do and the freezer to sort - i need to make a new inventory as there dosen`t seem to be any room in there and i`ve no idea where all the food has appeared from i just seem to keep shoving everything in there.

I made a version of Pookys terrine last night in the remoska so later i shall slice it and see how it`s turned out, looks good but it rose until i took the lid off to put foil over the top and then it went back down again:confused: as long as it tastes good i`m happy, i need to slice the whole thing up to freeze in portions - it`s delicious and nice with lots of things especially salad.

I really should make a start on the ironing whilst we are still on the cheap rate electricity but i`ll sneak a bit longer on here methinks - the wm, dw and bm are all on and i`m charging my mobile so i`m already making best use of it :D

Today i shall put up the coat hooks in the hallway, they have been sitting there for months waiting to be put up and now that i`ve found all the drill bits i`ve no excuse really :D

I`m off to catch up with yesterdays thread so i`ll catch up later guys.
Hope everyone has a lovely day and a big ((((HUG)))) to you all.

Planning on starting the GC again soon :p

Good morning Sunnyday and all who follow and (((hugs))) to Smoky, PenPin, Jayward, Essex-girl's Dad, Candygirl's Dad, Beth, her DGD and her DBs and Sammyjig's OH and all who need one.

    Churchmouse - :hello: :hello: :hello:

Today is paperwork day - yawn. I managed to get the ironing done yesterday afternoon and I even got the washing dry because we had a dry sunny afternoon after a wet and gloomy morning.

I see we have all survived the start of the Big Bang experiment, though why we had to spend the money on that when half the world is still lacking clean fresh drinking water and regular food, I don't know. I know what I'd rather my taxes had been spent on and, in the case of the UK's contribution, they could have spent that helping those in need with their winter fuel and food bills. These powers that be always have to have something to try and scare us with.

Dinner tonight is a beef stew done in the Remoska. I am so glad I bought the Remoska - for any of you still undecided, I really do recommend it. My main oven is now 98% redundant, which is bound to be helping me keep my fuel costs down. Last night I did leftover new potatoes with chicken pieces on top which had been coated with garlic and Herbs de Provence and, about twenty minutes before I dished up, I added whole mushrooms and pieces of red and yellow pepper. When I took all the food out, I added some stock with a little red wine added to it and poured that over the chicken. It was delicious and the whole lot cooked in one easy-to-clean pan.

I must get in touch with E.On; I fixed my prices with them until next October and part of the deal was a free energy monitor - I've been waiting for over a month for it so I shall email them today. I've been looking forward to checking out what everything costs to run.

Anyway, I'm mioliering - will call back later.

    Morning.

It's dark and wet and looks like winter already out there.

Last day of work today and then 3 days off. Looks like I am fishing tomorrow and then a wedding on Saturday to go to, so looking forward to that.
Still have not got a gift yet, so better get looking.

Bit of a crunch month this. New Mortgage deal to arrange, MOT on cars, tax etc. It's a bit of a bummer.

    Well have a nice day

  • Morning all

Big hugs and good luck at the hospital today PENPIN.

It's dark here but dry at the mo and quite humid. Haven't read the thread from yesterday so big hugs to anyone who needs one.

Off to work in a mo, at least earlys go really fast, before you know it you're at home again.

Going out for dinner tonight with my neighbours and some other friends for assorted birthdays. Where we are going you take your own drink so it shouldn't be too bad.

SUNNYDAY I know what you mean about the freezer, am trying to empy mine at the mo, with not much success. Happy anniversary for yesterday.

    Have a good day all.

Good luck at the hospital PP

Quite mild this morning but believe we are going to have heavy rain today so dont think will bother with any washing. Was going to have a mainly office day but half of DD's brace fell out last night so I need to take her to the orthodontist. Its 45 minutes away and you usually have to wait some time so thats my morning gone.

Mioliere - agree with you about the Remoska, used it last night for our chicken rice and although it took a little longer it was lovely.

Freezer surprise for dinner so need to have a route around in there sometime.

    Enjoy your day.

no idea whats happening today, lo doesnt have nursery today so might go somewhere, just dont know where yet, ds1's nurse is phoning again tomorrow, still high bloods and he is still a moody sod! he went down into the classroom at lunchtime to do some work, wasnt amused as he knows he has to wait for me, so he was in there with no supervision, maybe not a problem for other kids but is for him, as he could easily have a hypo and there have been anyone to hear him! he seems to think i said that was ok, as if!!

    Morning :hello:

    Godd luck PP hug.gif

Not much to do today, a bit of washing and clean the rabbit cage.

I need to make more cards to sell (dunno where yet but I'll think of something) because - the boss came round last night, it didn't go very well. Let's just say it ended with me giving him back a pile of his business stuff, with him complaining that he 'didn't want it in the car, could he pop back another day with the van?' It's office stuff, headed paper etc !!!!!!. So no you can't, it's in my way. He's going to do everything himself apparently. I'm going to sit back and watch his biz fall apart :D

Will I rescue him when it all goes wrong? Yes I will - for £20 a hour with me working very slowly. lol.

I had a lovely PM about work/career from someone yesterday, it was very inspiring so thanks very much :T
