Troo - poop to your ex boss, what is the silly man thinking, one min he needs you and the book keeper and suddenly he thinks he can do it all himself, yeah right! Good luck with the cards, do you have any little cafes nearby or local post office, you've prob thought of these things already tho, or local florists might be a good place? Or a notice up in local shops offering cards made to order for special occasions, wedding invites, etc?

Thanks for that, I hadn't thought of florists  :T There's 2 within walking distance of my house so I will visit them tomorrow. I don't think the cafes will work for me though, they're famous around here for being THE places to go if you're a builder and want an excellent fry-up :D (Seymour Rd and Bristol Rd in Glos, if anyone's from round here you'll know the places I mean lol) Full of men that probably wouldn't even notice that there's cards :D

I was on a bit of a downer this morning, but what with you lot agreeing that the ex-boss is a loon and the advice I've just had from a businessman on here, you've cheered me up

  • Argh, must be me, I've posted the above twice and just had to delete one of them, and still haven't finished, lol!

Really windy here today, was going to hang out animals bedding that I washed yesterday, but think it might blow away, will wait a bit I think! Kitchen is a disaster, tom cat jumped up onto the side to get out the window and managed to knock over a bowl that had one of dd3's tops soaking in it, smashed a couple of glasses as well, water and glass all over the place, and noticed that someone has spilt dried chillies everywhere too! Picked up glass and shut the door, will go and sort it all out in a bit!

Was changing some stuff on my bank account, and for some reason the bank have blocked all my cards, phoned up and someone asked if they'd been cloned, nope they haven't, bank have just pressed the wrong buttons! Oh well, stops me spending I guess lol! Good job I have plenty of food in though, can't be doing with going in and sorting it out, our local branch is tiny and whilst they try to help they get confused a lot! Will leave it to my branch and deal with it by phone, should be done by the end of the day apparently, we'll see!

Seems like everyone has been cooking and baking, I need to get going with some I think, might have a browse for some new recipes later, have to sort out kitchen first!

Not much else planned for today, charity meeting and think I'm meant to be seeing a mate for coffee later. Need to think up a 40th birthday pressie for a friend, we've known each other since we were 2 years old! Anyway a group of us are going to buy her something from all of us - 12 of us who all went to school together, and we all still keep in touch and meet up a couple of times a year as a group, despite being flung to the four corners! Any suggestions ladies, and N9eav?

Off to catch up on yesterday's thread now, cya all later xx

Morning, just been catching up on a few necessary jobs and I've stewed a few more apples ready to go into freezer.

I've been noticing the price hikes, at Morrisons, their 3kg value soap powder has gone from £1.41 to £1.68, yet at Sainsbugs, it's still £1.41. I think I'm fortunate that I have the big 4 supermarkets close by and am able to pick things up as I'm passing. I did manage to pick up some YS haddock at Asda the other day, so that's in the freezer.

Ok, well I'm popping off now to Asda to see if they have any of those fleeces/throws in. Fingers crossed as they will be ideal to cover the bed and try to keep the cat's grubby paws off. Mud and cream bedding just don't match.

Love and hugs to all those in need, The Twit :grouphug:

    Morning all,

Have just taken HM Bread and split pea soup, milk eggs orange etc to DF's as they are due home from France this eve, we stayed with them in France and look after their home here when they are away, Have dusted through so all is ready for them.

Have made stuffed chick breasts for DD2/Sil 2b, HM wedges, corn on cob and YS Strawbs, melon and grapes for dins tonight and packed lunches for T/morrow. DH will drop stuff offwhen taking Labs for walkies.

Got 5ltrs of paint for Bedroom at B&Q y/day, DH carried it while we were wandering around, when he put it on the counter to pay there was a pool of paint due to a small hole in the bottom and when we looked down his black trousers were covered with it. Staff whisked him off to clean him up, got paint remixed then had to go to Lidle. DH had to walk around with wet trousers, he got a few funny looks. Today I will start painting the room already prept last week.

Having YS fish chips salad for dinner. No doubt accompanyed by a glass of sarsons vino.

PENPIN, MR CATZNINE, belated wishes. PENPIN hope all is ok at the hosp.

MIOLIERE, I pop a label inside the freezer bag making sure it can be read when bagging stuff.

    IVYLEAF, Hope DD is ok.

    :hello: Good morning!

Just a quick hello from me today as my cold's worse and brain doesn't want to work at all! DH has gone to the first session of his "Living with Type 2 diabetes" course on his own, as I can't be sneezing all over folk whose immune systems aren't all they could be. I'm sorry to be missing it, but it can't be helped, and I should be able to go to next week's.

Shez - lovely to see you back, we've missed you! Glad you're okay.:hello:

Churchmouse, Stefejb, VickyA, Bargain Rzl, mrs_mix :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello: :hello:

Troo - I was so pleased for you last night, and now I'm just cross with your stupid ex-boss  Good luck sellng your cards. Florists sound a really good idea!

Penny_Pincher - hope the hospital wasn't too bad today.

(((((HUGS))))) to all who need one.

All for now as my head's full of cotton wool again  but hopefully it will be starting to clear up tomorrow.

    Best wishes

mioliere - remoska should be paying you for your advertising

R.Mac - as you can probably tell, I just LOVE my Remoska and would hate to be without it! Right now, I'm prepping for tonight's stew but I've got a bagful of veg trimmings that I will make into soup in it tomorrow, and I've washed the potato peelings and coated them with jerk seasoning and sunflower oil and they are in the Remoska now, hopefully turning into some sort of snacky things! I think I've failed if I haven't used it at least once every single day since it arrived at the beginning of July!

How are you keeping, by the way?

RedRuby - how are you, now, and your DD?

Well, I shouldn't be sat here but the computer sort of drew me in as I walked past it on my way to the loo!

    See you later.

Ivyleaf - (((hugs))) to you - hope you feel better soon. Take it easy.

Beth - I like your idea for freezer labels, thanks. So far, Troo's idea has worked very well so I shall use a mixture of ideas! Thanks to everyone - it's great here, isn't it? You ask a question and, before you know it, someone has got the answer! Where else would you get service like that? At least now I can identify what's in the freezer without having to guess!
