    Morning

Things are not great. DH still having chest pains. The hospital appear to be worse than useless he waited all yesterday for a test and they didnt do it. I went yesterday with dd and she managed to fall off a chair and bang her head, boy did she cry. We have been asked not to go back even to the day room where we were sat! DD is being an absolute madam because shes missing her daddy and she wet the bed twice last night.

Plans for today is a massive pile of wet bedding, ironing from the last few days. Tea will be coming out of the freezer but I need to bake something for suppers.

    Have a good day everyone

Joannasmum - sounds like a dreadful experience at the hospital, not very sympathetic towards your DD were they. I hope things improve for your DH (((hugs)))

  • Morning everyone, very mild but damp here this morning, went to Asda yesterday and was staggered by some of the price increases just in the last few days, Smartprice corned beef now £1.17, i have a tin in the fridge 78p!!!! Went to local freezer centre and managed to get Stork margarine for 12p (Asda 40p) I know prices have increased but i just dont get how the local freezer centre can keep prices relatively stable, and the larger supermarkets with their massive purchasing power are increasing prices daily!!!!
    Rant over!!!
DH fast asleep after another 10 hr nightshift, DD2 has appointment with CAB this afternoon as she is finding it difficult managing on her maternity benefit, have offered to help her sort things (with the aid of this site) but she is just at that age where she wants to do everything herself so lessons to be learned i guess. Unfortunatley she lost her baby in June at 22wks and has taken it badly, her work put her straight on maternity leave, but she does not feel ready to go back yet.
Well i must say its nice to have a forum like this where you can share your ups and downs with like minded folks
Have a good day all xx

    Special hugs :grouphug: Penny-Pincher, Sammy + OH,:grouphug:

Kathy I agree totally, all that money, time and effort could have been put to better use. It makes me so  when people are starving, have no water and our seniors are worried about keeping themselves warm this winter. These governments and their !!!!-a-mamey schemes, who wants to know how the universe was formed  most of us are struggling to keep going as it is, without all this waste of money, give us some back is what I say.
ok sorry peeps, rant over, I do get on my soap-box from time to time :o

Pixie hope you feel better soon x

N9eav hope the weather is kind to you on Saturday for the wedding:D

Morning all - Don't read on here much anymore so hugs to all in need and congrats to anyone who's had good news lately.

BSB - I know what you mean about the asda price increases, passatta was up from 29p 2 weeks to 49p this week  Their smart price fabric conditioner was 44p 2 weeks ago - this week 69p  I find it so annoying - I bet they'll all be on "roll back" next week but I cant afford those sort of price hikes at the moment.

Life's ticking along well here - DH is loving his new job, DD's are back to school and DD2 sits her 11+ next week - hoping the tutoring has paid off, she's improved no end but still panics when it comes to tests, she's been sleeping walking/talking so much lately - funny to hear and see what she's up to but really makes her tired for a few days afterwards.

Got 5 packs of mixed beans soaking, ready to cook up later, DD's have developed a real passion for a chili bean, pasta bake I do - so cheap and easy but does need an hour in the oven....wondering if it's something I could do in a remoska if I had one??? (I really should look into what they can and can't do - is there a thread anywhere?)

Off out for coffee with a friend this morning whilst the sun shines then must make some biscuits and cakes as the boxes are bare.

Hope you all have a great day

 Dunno what you're on about :rotfl: :rotfl:

The washer is on, the weather looks a bit dodgy though.

The rabbit doesn't want to go out of the door so she'll be hopping around the kitchen instead :D

Mr troo has booked a week off for the week after next, we were hoping to go to Cornwall but there's no chance of that now. Still, we can plan the garden for next year and start making new guinea pig runs.

  • Morning all!

Got half way through my post and my darn pooter decided to reconfigure itself, argh!

Penpin - good luck today hun, sorry to hear you had a bad night xx

Poppy - not many more sleeps to go!

Troo - poop to your ex boss, what is the silly man thinking, one min he needs you and the book keeper and suddenly he thinks he can do it all himself, yeah right! Good luck with the cards, do you have any little cafes nearby or local post office, you've prob thought of these things already tho, or local florists might be a good place? Or a notice up in local shops offering cards made to order for special occasions, wedding invites, etc?

Sunnyday - congratulations to you and mr sd on your anniversary!

Redruby - slow down, you're meant to be recovering woman! My friends used to make grape and folly wine, think folly is the leafy stuff on the vine? Anyway it was really nice, wine grapes are quite tart I think?

Pixie - hope the dizzy spells stop soon, and I did laugh at your ds, he obviously doesn't feel stressed about his diabetes! Just leaves the worrying to you!

Joannesmum - hope things get sorted out soon for your dh, and that dd's head is ok now.

Sistercas - you are going to have to do something about your oh before you murder him, my oh is always telling me he's tired, I just agree with him now! He seems to forget I work nights and deal with the kids during the day! Anyway I've stopped doing his washing and ironing, mainly cos he never puts it in the wash basket, and recently I've taken to pointing him towards the freezer for his dinner - he has a habit of saying I've put the washing on for you, when it's just his clothes, or he's put the dw on for me, does he not use any plates - drives me insane! Kids have now started asking him why he doesn't do any chores and they do - think they are starting to get through to him!

Bootsalebabe - your poor dd, that's a terrible thing to experience. I work with a girl who's 21 and has a little girl and struggles with things, another friend and me are giving her cookery lessons now, bless her, she can't even cook a cake!

Hi all - an hour of peace while DH has popped out. I think he's given himself the rest of the week off without telling me; well, he's sort of working - delivering quotes and getting materials and so on, but then spreads all his paperwork all over the kitchen table and he NEVER puts anything back! He leaves his shaving stuff on the bathroom sink and I always put it away but this morning I've put it where he can't find it so he'll have to ask - it might have more impact than when I keep on at him! He's not quite as bad as yours, Sistercas, he always helps clear up after meals but can sometimes not notice that I'm running around like a blue-a***d fly while he does nothing!

Joanna - lots of (((hugs)) to you, your DH and your DD - she's bound to be reacting to what's going on and she is being perfectly normal. The hospital have no right to ban you, especially as they are the ones making you have to wait there! Honestly, we are hearing some dreadful things about hospitals lately on here, aren't we?

Pippa - I'm glad you feel the same way about the way our useless leaders spend OUR money. If they would just ask us how we think it should be spent we could put the whole world to rights and everyone would have a decent way of life. It makes me very angry.

Bootsalebabe - (((hugs)) to your DD2; she's really going through it. It's only been three months so she really needs to put herself first and not even think about work.

Troo - your ex-boss doesn't deserve you. I really hope you can find another job or have real success with your cards and then you'll be able to forget him!

Pam - good luck at the dentist!

Well, I'd better go and prep the veggies for the stew tonight and then tackle the dreaded paperwork.

Guess what? It's raining here - again!
