i did have a lil note n there saying theyd get a free gift for refering a frined..i also had a note saying spend over 20.00 get a gift lol
i made the lil cards myself just saying yes or no (or to that effect ) and most of the ones who said no were people who didnt have them before...i did it for about 6 months or so and they either never returned the books...or said they no longer wanted them...so i guess i should have expected it really but its always disheartening spending all that time walking for them to just turn around and say no
but saying that my best customer did order 50 qorth of stuff...which is her usual spend sometimes more.
i was told tho by a regular that while i was not doing it..(which me AM was aware of) someone delivered a brochure took orders but never went back hmmm...my regular customers did know i was going to be away as i let them know before hand ...so thankfully they are back to ordering..well 3 of them have

Have done some little tags (like gift tags with ribbon ties) on fluorescent card, just to let my customers know that they'll get a little gift if they refer a friend/neighbour, who gives me an order. Just wanted to run it by you peeps for your opinions......
Better to:
1. Attach to the bags i.e. for those who've ordered?
2. Attach to the books in some way?
3. Just put inside the books with the ribbon sticking out i.e. like a 'bookmark'?
Any thoughts, anyone?
Thanks in advance.

attach with a paper clip to the book, that way people can remove them easily and attach to their order form.0 -
When I first started doing my territory, I used to put a post it note on my books with a please tick if you no longer wish to receive books. This actually helped as one road, really do not want books, have 4 customers on that road, the rest were throwing the books back out as soon as I had put them through their letterbox.
This saves me a journey when putting books out on their road.
But I mentioned a few weeks ago, another new rep had been walking around my territory, well she has really upset people. I put books down this particular road for the first time in 2 months and got a note back on one saying if I leave anymore books at this house, they will be put in the bin as she has already told me not to leave books.
Well I didn't canvass them for 2 months.... so the other rep obviously got this note and didn't bother to tell me.
So this is a reason for reps to not just go willy nilly canvassing where they like.0 -
Hi All, I've been reading through this post and signed up to become an Avon rep last week, I'm going to be posting my first lot of catalogues out today and I'm quite nervous! I've already had an order for $18 from my aunt so i'm hoping to at least hit the min of $78 this campaign!
A quick question, how many books do you normally put out at once? I have 60 books (camps 17 & 18) and I'm posting 40 today and hoping to collect on Weds. Luckily I have been given territory of the streets surrounding my house and since I've lived here I've never been posted an Avon book so I've got my fingers crossed for a lot of orders!Make £10K in 2010 Challenge - £82.02 :TThink wealth not debt!New Comper - lets see what 2010 wins me!! :j0 -

Welcome Sams Mum - don't worry, it all seems a bit overwhelming and complicated at first and you have plenty of help and advice on hand on here. If you'd like to PM me I have some tips and templates I can send you. My largest drop is around 50 brochures and I've worked my brochures drops so that they get smaller as I go on (the last of 4 is around 15) - that accounts for lost books.I have aomeone who i think is my asm coming to visit me tomorrow to sign me up ( I hope) i just can;t wait to get started - I am slowly working my way through this thread from the begining I'm 80 pages in so far !
Hi Jane - suggest you might be best to read the 20 or so most recent pages, just to keep up with the later stuff, before going back to read the earlier ones. PM me (see above)
Good luck both of you - let us know how you get on 'Better to ask a silly question than to make a silly mistake' Elliebee's Mum

As you will be aware, the UK Government has advised that the VAT rate will return to 17.5% from 1st January 2010.
Therefore, from Campaign 2 onwards (Trendsetter C4) you will see on your invoice a nominal decrease in your earnings which reflects the increase in VAT.
We will not be increasing the brochure prices of our products as a result of the VAT increase and we will continue to make every effort to ensure that our brochures feature great promotions and special offers, offering exceptional value for money to our customers0
