Blimey thanks, I didn't know that! Wonder how she got signed up then? Hmmm............

might have been someone who got her mum to be guarantor not realising rules have changed... or not read her emails, etc.
  • Purple - I still open the new boxes just like I did the old ones which is upside down. If you open them from the bottom they are soooo much easier to reseal. :j

Did the rules change recently and if so, how/in what way?

You used to be able to sign up to do Avon if you were aged 16, but under 18, if you got someone over 18 to sign up for you.

One of my team is only just 18 and when we interviewed her, she told me that last year, before she moved to my area, she used to do Avon, but as she was only 17, her Mum signed up for her, as guarantor. Now we are not allowed to sign up anyone under 18.

Think it was quite recent the rules changed.

Just looking at my Sales Leader e-guide

When you are appointing a new representative you must ensure:

They are over 18 years of age.

It goes onto say that a person under 18 years of age cannot operate an Avon Representative Account, even if a parent or guardian is willing to sign the Representative Agreement and act as the contact point.

Which is what used to happen.
  • hmmm i am very dissapointed today...i used to da a round but put it on hold for 3 months stuff going on at home..i delivered 30 books...and i got most back with only 3 orders ...all of these were people who had orders previously..alot said they didnt want them again :(
has anyone else put a tick card in..so people can tick whether they want it again or not?...if so how'd it go?....i di this with the lot i just put out because i was forever losing books..usually to the same addresses..i actually had a few say they want them who i didnt previously deliver too as i was lazy an got to the point of only delivering to those who ordered.
my round never seemed to be much good out of over 100 houses i had about 14 customers.
and the road i deliver to is very very long!! and sods law the houses who order are all spread right out lol.

I only started with 20 books so have always asked if there's any interest before leaving a book rather than just leaving it on spec. Even then sometimes I've had books returned with handwritten notes on them saying 'Please do not leave again' (or words to that effect).

Am still new at this but do gather the previous agent on my patch let quite a few people down and it takes a while to build up trust again. It may be that because of your 3 month lapse people are a little wary?

Don't know anything about tick cards but wonder if you could build up by offering a little gift to any customers, who refer another one? Just a thought.

Also, if you have any old books, might it be worth using them to try and expand your round by putting a note on those to the effect that you're now 'back in business' and to contact you if they'd like to see the Christmas brochure? (Better than just sticking in your recycling box anyway.)

    Good luck.
