  • Morning all, feeling more refreshed this morning after a better nights sleep. Nice to see the sun out again today, it makes everyone feel better, even the dog who actually wanted to go out!! Will spend today tidying up, and doing mealplans for the week as i am going to Asda later. Lunch today will be chicken curry, will cook loads and freeze some for DH to take to work later in the week. Going on to internet banking now as DS is away working abroad and has left me in charge of paying all his bills, woo hoo its his payday and he owes me £100, so i will be the first in line lol.
N9eav did you have any luck with orange????

She's excited today as its swimming ( there wasnt any spaces at the end of the last sessions of swimming, but the next stage would have been laps,so she can swim thats the main thing) and homework club after school. She still gets to play the cornet that she enjoys. So today,i have done the washing, going to prepare tea....beef casserole  s thst can go on cooking....still havent got a slow cooker  but its on my tobuy list!!!

Went to WW's on Monday......lost 2 pound :j :j whoo hoo!!! really pleased as with the kids being off,i just couldnt get motivated, but i need to now,as the doctors will be looking at my progress,i want them to be pleased with me :)

Morning all! Wow - can see a little sunlight! Do I dare put out some laundry or will I be running to collect it from rain later? hmmmm....

DH came home this morning with all the ingredients needed for cottage pie, courtesy of his workplace (Sains) as when they bring out a new "feed your family for a fiver" they sometimes send home the ingredients and recipe free. Yay! Tea sorted and free as well!

I got a statement from Npower again. I've spoken to them at least 5 times since July when we switched to a different supplier, but they still have been sending us statements saying "you owe..." or like today's "you are in credit due to your payment in July" .. which is odd as we never made a payment in July. They're saying it's estimated meter readings, which again is odd as we had a prepay meter with a smart card with them. Arrrrggghhh! The last person I spoke to said it was sorted and account closed and zero balance. I am going to go mental, I really am!!!!

Other than that, relaxing for a few before I get on with more housework.

Hope everyone is having a good day today!

  • Triggles, thank you - you've just reminded me that I need to do meter readings so EON can complete my switch to them!!!!!!!! They phoned me on Saturday to ask for them (but as cupboard is outside & it was torrential at the time I said they could call back, so they said they'd ring me Monday afternoon. As yet they haven't.. (but I haven't done readings either, lol!!)

Will go & do it now.

    Happy Birthday Penny Pincher!
    :bdaycake: :bdaycake:

Have just had a low carb breakfast and am sitting here with a pot of tea in peace and quiet.

Will make home made turkey burgers, potato wedges and cabbage for tea and need to hang out a load of towels that have just finished spinning.

Might tidy the kitchen and load the dishwasher before having a shower in peace.

Still trying to talk DH into buying a Remoska but if I can "economise" enough to save the money might just buy it anyway, smuggle it into the kitchen and swear blind we have had it for ages!!!;)

When your ex-boss comes begging you to return, make sure you do it on your terms as it will entail more responsibility etc. If your hourly rate is higher than the "curtain shop" then it would be silly to even consider going there.

Point out that you have experience of the business and how he likes things done that no one else would have. Also work out how much money you have saved him since you started work and make sure he knows that!

I would make him stump up for ECDL fees as well as it will make things even more efficient!

    Good morning :hello:

Happy Birthday Pen_Pin :bdaycake: Hope you won't have to hang around too long at the hospital -and to Charlie's Mum's DS too:bdaycake: and a rather belated Happy Birthday to mioliere:bdaycake:
Sammyjig - so glad to hear your OH is home :j

Troo - so sorry to hear about your job, and I hope karma will indeed bite him on the bum!

joannasmum - ((((HUGS)))) to you, hope you get good news of your DH today.

    Twink and Pixiedust ((((HUGS))))

Ceridwen - I enjoyed your rant and I agree with you!

I've heard from Catowen and she is okay, but her new LO is a baby so takes up the time she used to be able to spend on here. She says when she does get a minute she visits the comp boards - I reckon she's still hankering after that tractor :D Hope she'll get a chance to call in soon, it seems quite odd without her.

AussieLass - the chooks look lovely! Hope DGS's hands are doing well.

Celyn - get some sleep, woman! Good luck with the job application. I'm sure your boss is insane.

Mioliere - about the freezer labels - I use a chinagraph pencil to write on the freezer bags. The writing can be removed with a dry cloth, but will stay put in the freezer meanwhile.

Squiggly - hope your head feels better soon ((HUGS))

((((HUGS)))) to betheebee and her dgd and to candygirl and her DD

My head is a bit cotton-woolly this morning as I've got a cold. Got some decongestants yesterday, and at least I haven't got a sore throat. Need to go to Bluewater today if DH feels up to the drive, as I need to take a couple of jumpers back to M & S - they are completely shapeless and look dreadful:rolleyes: I'm having a job to find any I like - might try BHS later in the week as my last ones came from there and look okay, despite not all being quite the same size even though the labels say they are.

DD1 gave us a scare on Saturday, she had to go to hospital in an ambulance in a lot of pain  They think she has either gallstones or an ulcer, with the gallstones the most likely culprit, so she has to have an ultrasound and if there no gallstones she has to have an endoscopy. In the meantime she's on a low fat diet! (She did enjoy the morphine though:D )

    All for now

    best wishes

    ivyleaf xx
  • Very swift post to say that I have not read the thread, so hugs and cuddles to all. I will find it hard to post until after my holiday :j:j:j:j but I shall come back and tell you all about it!

Troo - so sorry to hear about your redundancy but (I hope this is something that will help) when dear heart was made redundant it was the best thing that ever happened to him. I hope that you too find this a stepping stone to better things - sorry if it sounds like a platitude, but fingers crossed for you.

mummysaver, the piggie breeding wouldn't work because I'll fall in love with the babies and keep them all :rotfl:

elona, I have formulated a speech :D He's coming round tonight so I'll let him have it lol. Actually, I'll be holding a bit back - the BK just rang me and had a chat, she's going to send a cheque today to make I get everything, she's going away for 2 weeks then she'll have a word with him about her leaving (she's not 100% sure but she probably will). She'll recommend me to take over, so I'll be quids in :D

I'll do it on a self-employment basis as the hours will change week to week, I'm SE already for other things so I might as well be for everything. Obviously my rate will be higher than my wage was, but a bit less than what the BK charges ;)

Oooooh you're not going to believe this - the BK just rang back, she spoke to boss and told him she was leaving, praised me up and told him how it could work. He thinks it's a great idea. She also said that as he's already told me I'm redundant, it's only fair that I still get the redundancy and holiday pay :D He agreed :rotfl:

  • It's such a lovely day today, the sun is shining and I've got all my windows open and enjoying the fresh air.I'm going to spend all day doing the things that I fell behind or could'nt do when the weather was foul. It's amazing how much difference the sun makes to us.
