  • Morning all

Dry here so far and supposed to be sunny today. We shall see.

BETHEEBEE that is so awful, big hugs to your DGD.

SAMMYJIG glad your OH is home.

PENPIN Happy Birthday to you  .
TWINK sorry to hear about your Uncle, hugs to you.

    SIMONE welcome.

Big hugs for all who need one this morning.

I have work at 1.30pm. Want to bung some bolognese sauce in the SC for OH and DS to have for tea. Shall freeze the rest of it for cottage pie. DS told me last night he wants soup for breakfast. Anyone else got a child that eats really strange things in the morning? . My DNeice in the USA is known to eat all sorts of left-overs for breakfast and I can remember having curry and toast when I was a student as there was nothing else to eat!

Need to have a tidy around and do some ironing before I go. Also will try and do an hour at the allotment.

    Have a good day all.

    Jan :A xxxx
  • Good morning everyone  It's Big Bang day today, and my DS has confidently informed me that all those particles spinning around under Switzerland are going to lead to the destruction of the earth  so no Old Style jobs list today - just eating lots of chocolate :D

Happy Birthday to Penny Pincher :bdaycake:

We started watching Cranford on DVD last night (hence the new sig). Missed it when it was on TV and we're all enjoying it.

Enjoy your day, everyone, Penny. x

    Happy Birthday to PP.
Come on Granny B, fess up you've been in the attic.
On the subject of nosy MIL's, anyone opening any of my bedroom drawer would need nerves of steel!!!

I now have some beef casseroles in the freezer along with the apple crumbles, I also bought BIL a pair of oven gloves, I could imagine him putting a crumble in the oven & then when it was cooked, not being able to get it out.
The plumber has finally got the water supply & toilet sorted in BIL's new house, so it looks like BIL really might finally be able to move out.
Tonight I'm making batches of Bolognese sauce, lasagne & yet more apple crumbles. The washing line is full as it is supposed to be bright & breezy today.
I hope everyone has a good day.
    Hugs Hester

    morning all,

Happy Birthday to Pen pin, , hope you have a good day x

Well its not raining :T , and I am back to work today  , never mind, I am sure there is lots to do to keep me busy, it will be nice to get back into a routine.

Will have a quick swipe around before I go, house is fairly tidy, so not much to do. Think I will put a wash on when I get back tonight and try to keep on top of it, its the drying that is hard, if I do a little bit and put it on the airer it should be ok, I am determined not to put my heating on untill November, and I don't have a td, so its hard to get things dry.

Just had toast with HM jam :D , it was delish, I have a grape vine in the garden which is smothered in grapes, think I will make some grape jelly, not sure if there is enough for wine making, perhaps next year, (its a new plant)

Salmon cous cous and veg for tea, which is nice and quick.

Juliejim, congrats on the weight loss xx

Hugs to Twink today, so sorry to hear about your uncle, big hugs xx

    Have good days all xx

Anyone else sitting there taking deep breaths and trying not to feel nervous? Apparently its 8.30am they set it off - ie the particle accelerator that has wasted billions of £s to sit in a huge tunnel somewheres underneath Switzerland.

Well the scientists involved will doubtless get their money and prestige - whilst the rest of us sit here and wish Dr Stephen Hawking had never been born - as apparently hes the person at the route of this way back....

Well - we coulda spent our share of all that money on useful stuff - like our embattled NHS, like benefits, like schools - but no it had to go and further the careers of a few scientists.....and the rest of us sit here and hope the scientists who have been trying to stop it (as they fear that it will all go horribly wrong and 4 years approx from now we'll all know about it arent correct and - at the least - something useful will emerge from this) (though for the life of me I cant see what).

Sorry - folks - my rant for the day over - I'll go back to my deep breathing and porridge for breakfast.

So I don't need to do the washing-up, ironing, clean the bathroom or anything??!! :j :T :j

    Good morning,

Work as usual today, closely followed by mango chutney & washing up. Must do some ironing too - before OH comes home :o:

PenPin - Happy Birthday lovie, hope you have another nice day :)

Troo - what goes around, comes around ;)

Twink - :grouphug: at least he's not ill anymore

Pixie - are the school "contributing" to the high-bloods situation then? that's a bit irresponsible of them.....give 'em what for :p

Cel - is Dr Jekyll still hassling you? how's the thesis coming on (or shall we not ask? :o)

E/Girl - at least it's sorted and not hanging over you, even if it will be a tight month ;)

H/Hester - fingers crossed that BiL gets into his own place soon! :j

Must go & jump in the bath, see you later!
