If it is what you want. If the end, it's just a standard laptop with an i5 processor and lower than is usual RAM.
Why it is that you feel that you need an i5 processor above all else?

I don't necessarily want an i5 above all else, just saw this and thought it looked good value... Think an i3 would be sufficient for my needs so perhaps get one of those with better RAM than on this if thats an issue?

What exactly are your needs? All you have written is about i5 or i3 rather than typical usage.
Chances are a basic Celeron with enough RAM will be enough for you.
All this agonising is most painful.

Get down to ASDA and get their £200 Medion and shove a bit more RAM in.
Think about what you actually need and will utilise and find that for the best price, rather than obsessing over the processor above all else.
It has been three weeks and you are still here.
Unless you are gaming or are doing some specialist work, it's really pointless to spend more in the hope of 'future-proofing' as some put it.
I'm running three and four year old basic machines with no issues.
Spend more if you like., but in the end what will you get for the extra dough?
  • Hi

I have been reading all the useful posts on here and just want a 2nd opinion.

I want a laptop around £200-300ish. I mainly use the laptop for downloading music and films. I want a HDMI port to stream football games too.

I think the ACER 5560G may be perfect but want to make sure.

    Thanks

Even the ASDA Medion at £200 will cover those simple needs.
No need to cough up for a 'gaming' machine if on a tight budget.
