So I came back from a walk today and tried my icard sim and it worked. Hurrah, so under 48 hours from the second time of asking for the port.

    That's the OFCOM maximum.

Yes they are stopping free internet on the 30th but these are their "Goodybag" deals:

£5 - Unlimited Texts, Unlimited GiffGaff to GiffGaff Texts & Calls.

£10 - Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Internet, 250 Minutes, Unlimited GiffGaff to GiffGaff Texts & Calls.

£15 - Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Internet, 400 Minutes, Unlimited GiffGaff to GiffGaff Texts & Calls.

£25 - Unlimited Texts, Unlimited Internet, 1,500 Minutes, Unlimited GiffGaff to GiffGaff Texts and Calls.

This is currently the best deal on Pay As You Go. For contract the best deals that I have found is on TalkMobile SIM Only:

    (1 Month) £30.64 - 800 UK/international minutes
Unlimited UK texts, 50 international texts, Mobile internet for 26p per day.

With Asda mobile jumping from 7p to 10p, I have had a look around and found Lebara Mobile. They run on the Vodaphone network. 5p to landlines, 10p to mobiles and no connection charge PAYG or contract.
dub dub dub . lebara - mobile . co . uk

like Lebara Mobile, some other PAYG providers that I came across are:
Now Mobile : 5p UK landline, 10p Mobile
    LycraMobile : 3p UK landline, 10p Mobile
    icardMobile : 2p UK landline, 6p Mobile
They all have cool international rates also; like India for 1p per minute :)

 I once got a Virgin PAYE account as part of a phone purchase.
I was getting charged 26p per min and thought I was being ripped off.
'dazzammm' is paying 40p per min. So 26p that I was paying must be something of a bargain ;)
    I feel better now :D

iCardmobile.co.uk put up their prices. New rates for UK : Landline 3p / Mobile 6p

    Is this still the
cheapest PAYG for calling UK numbers?!

But like all the others I know of, you will lose all credit and your number if not used for continuous period of 90 days.
