How to use coupons as cash discussion

I'm new to this thread - be gentle with me, please!
Just to report that my Tescos now won't accept any internet coupons, but, more worryingly I think, will only accept ONE for an item you haven't bought, per shop. I thought it was always the case that if you hadn't bought the item, you could only use one MOC for that product, but you could do this on as many different products as you wanted. I'm really disappointed, this will make a big difference to my budget if it's really official policy now - been told it twice in the last week.
Can anyone corroborate this?
TIA
I'm sorry to hear that Clare+3, bit of a bummer to say the least.
I just wanted to let you all know that my local ASDA (Falmouth, Cornwall) did accept some internet coupons from me today. I wasn't feeling too brave so only handed 4 coupons over and the young SA scanned them all.
FYA the coupons accepted were: 40p off Tetley decaff tea(the one which the dark blue background), 50p off Peartiser/Fruitiser, £1 off Mitchum deodorant & the 1/2 price Mitchum deodorant (which equates to £1.50).
Also thought that I'd share the coupons which most recently wouldn't scan in Tesco yesterday(the SA genuinely did try to scan them): 40p off tetley tea (plain white background) and 50p(I think!) off Cow&Gate baby yoghurts.
Clare+3, do you have an ASDA you can try your coupons in? I know you won't get any clubcard points, but it might be worth a try? What are evreyone's thoughts on trying ASDA, was this just a lucky one-off for me today d'ya think?0 -
I've been using mine for the last 3 wk's with no problem as long as there is only one of a kind coupon in Tesco (ie) 15 coupons but 15 different products on the coupons.... The BIG Q is, can anyone tell me is there a rule or law about scanning more coupons of your printer when your d/load limit is reached ? ...............................................................................................................................On a personal note I started using coupons to buy shopping about 3 years ago. I'd always shopped a Tesco's and had often commented about the 'silly old ladies' with their coupons in front of me. That is until I read on here about the savings people made. I started using coupons even if I hadn't bought the product and could quite easily wipe 25-40% off my shop. At the same time I was still getting my clubcard points from Tesco. With 3 kids and my wife in our family the food bill would easily hit £4,000 a year. This saved me a good £1,500 a year. Well worth it.
Along with the coupon thread on here there are many other good sites with coupons on.
www.paidtoshop.co.uk and www.money-off-coupons.blogspot.com and www.couponnet.co.uk. The best thing is you can often print your own as well. Best advice I can give is not to be too greedy and test the water first.
Good Luck

I tried this coupon last Friday in Asda and they would not except it.I have found the Asda around here (Leamington Spa) to be very erratic when it comes to excepting coupons. One week I was told you can only use a maximum of seven coupons, another week I was told you can use up to a third of your shopping bill in coupons and last wek the checkout girl told me I could not use internet coupons, coupons which I have used before. I shall carry on attempting to use them though.

For crying out loud, do you want to ruin it for everyone???? Dont use other supermarkets specific ones in the self scan!!! Thats the kind of thing that will get coupon usage stopped!!! Didnt you read any of the previous page???
Only use legitimate coupons, or there will be no coupons accepted in any Tescos.
Tesco's here in Warwick have sealed of the slot where you place coupons and a notice is put in place to say they cannot be excepted at self scan.0 -
Just wanted to let you all know (in case you weren't aware) that by signing up to the email newsletter at Food Doctor website at http://www.thefooddoctor.com you can print off 4x different £1 off coupons.
Of course, they are intended for the sin-free range of Food Doctor foods, but I 'spent' mine today and must admit they probably paid for the chocolate cake, milkshake and crisps...
To get the vouchers, look for the purple button on the home page which reads "Trial our products and save money".0 -

Great find diamondgir78 (fooddoctor). Thanks. Would you mind posting on the above link too. I don't see this coupon there and it's just the sort that people are looking for.
Many thanks.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
TIRkiz: Yup you're right! Totally addicted! Good luck with your "first attempt" today... let us know if it worked.
Scrooge2008: Have done as you suggested, thanks. If I find any more I'll let you all know.0 -
I have been reading about using coupons last week and I finally gave it a go yesterday at my local Asda (Basingstoke).
I spent £33 and got £6.90 off. I had a Lurpak voucher so I handed that it first as I have bought the product. The guy serving didn't seem to be aware of the T&C's of couponing so had to keep calling his supervisor and told me they would only accept a total of one web voucher a time. Still, £6.90 saved! :T
I went back later as I had some coupons left and remembered some stuff I forgot to buy. This time I spent just over £15.00 and paid £4.95 :j I went for a middle -aged, house-wife looking lady this time and she happily scanned all my coupons in while we were sharing tips on where to get them from :rotfl:
For 3x £2 worth of coupons posted to you, try registering with John Frieda's Elite Club here ( I received mine last week, they worked in Asda):

Just been told by a checkout operator in Rotherham that Asda will not be accepting coupons where you dont buy the product from the beginning of November. Do Tesco still do this?0
