  • my deepest sympathy...its hard to make an advice..,.. and i agree with them that the best way is approach them and explain it to them why those things happened..
  • Oh no Zara thats horrible! I haven't got anything to say as in advice apart from keep him close and let him know how much you love him but i'm sure he already knows that. Thinking of you and your nephew xxx
You may walk and you may run
You leave your footprints all around the sun
And every time the storm and the soul wars come
    You just keep on walking
  • oh zara - i can't imagine what you're going through. i'm so so sorry. i don't even know how to explain a premature death to adults.... good luck and if you ever need any support, we're all here for you xx

  • I had to give you a message of condolences for you, your family and your nephew.

You won't know what to say but I would advise honesty ( what you / your family feel right to say at the time) as suggested above, having too lost my mum at a young age.

i'm sosorry to hear of your loss, my thoughts are with you. I'd be honest with him, tell him mummy isn't hurting anymore, she's up above looking and watching over him and will always be the brightest star shining in the sky. Does he know of any other people who have passed over? maybe explain that they are now all together in heaven
    hope this helps
take care all of you xx
  • I'm so sorry to hear about your loss (((hugs))) I agree with Spaniel36. When my mum passed away (I was 15) I chose the brightest star and thats where my mum went. I talk to her every day as if she was still here. Her workplace also did a collection so we could buy something to remind us of her. I had a locket which i wear so she's always near me. I hope this helps. Love to you and your family xxx

    Warmest hugs to you xx
  • I am so sorry to hear your very sad news.

Hugs to you and your family
  • How awful for you all. Very sad indeed. Sending you hugs and sincere condolences.
Don't know if you have told him now but please try to answer all his questions. He does not need protecting, he needs answers and guidance. Let him talk, talk and talk some more, as you all should do. Ask him if there is anything he feels he would like to do.
Life really is a &*%$ but really celebrate her life and the little boy she has left behind.
    So, so sorry.
    (((((hugs)))))

Sending you big hugs - I lost my sister at 38yrs and miss her still.

On a practical note, schools do have access to bereavement counselling (in my area anyway). It is tailored to the needs of the child and it can help the child to talk to a stranger about how he is feeling, as he doesn't have to grapple with feelings of disloyalty and can just say what he thinks without worrying about the feelings of others.
