there should be alist appear in the window. - scroll down to Connections TCP/IP and select properties again
see if obtain an IP address automatically has been selected.
Yes it has ....and then below it says dsn server and it is ticked also0 -
OK - then it should attempt to get its IP address either from your ISP (virgin) when your modem connects to the internet - or your router when you connect the PC to the router..
Have you attempted to connect your PC via the router yet?Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -

the way mines connected is modem to router then router to pc0 -
There should be five ports on the back of the router - Four are grouped together and 1 by itself - this is the one the modem plugs into.
Then one of the four port group (any one it shouldnt matter) goes to your PC.Don't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
Do you mean type this in as a web address as inshadowdragon wrote: »Ok its a lincsys one...heres what you need to do
You set your WEP code. Go to your browser, and type in 192.168.1.1. type in password (if you have not changes it, it is ADMIN).
Under wireless, go to wireless security, and set up your security option. WEP will be there, and then type in your passkey (passphrase), and then save settings. You will need to use same passkey on all computers when you set them up for wireless connection.
Stole this from else where but try it. Not seen the internals of a lincsys so cant really guide you
www.192.168.1.1. ?
I am almost loosing the will to live here as we still cant get going on wireless. I dont know what else to try. dont really have the money at minute to get someone out.......0 -
