if you really want to check your defenses go here and run some of there tests

    https://www.grc.com/x/ne.dll?bh0bkyd2

used them for years and gives you an indication of which ports are in danger of attack ect. (they dont even try and sell you anything either!!)

WOW - thanks for this link - I just ran a test on this which showed my pc as being very secure. I do have McAfee security suite, and also scan regularly with Windows Care Professional, so I would expect it to be secure, but it is nice to have it confirmed

    works with my firefox!!!

    But gratz on your security.

I wouldnt absolutely testify to it, but I believe its comodo that stealths all the ports (Aside from the programs I run which it then opens to those 'only')

It does work on firefox actually. I believe im currently having problems with virgin broadband (since some time last night)

I was thinking along the lines with the bad weather it may be a routing problem with downed servers ect. Been some bad flooding around.

I have run a scan using Ad-aware,spybot search and destroy and also AVG and Kapersky.

Someone did access my laptop. My laptop was sent off for warranty repair last week and they needed my password to access my account(install drivers etc)

Then, as per my usual reply to these 'I've been hacked' posts, my reply is you haven't been hacked you've given your details away - let me guess, you use the same password almost everywhere and or have your hotmail and every other account name and password saved on the computer?

    Hi,

My ebay password and hotmail password are completely different. Most my passwords are different. They are not saved on the laptop, they are saved on an external hard drive. I only really access that if I forget any of my passwords.
