hi all
thanks for all your advice on here - not posted for a while so just to update on my situation.... accepted offer on my property 2 weeks ago so called mortgage provider to confirm all ok to be told they had "shelved" my approved app and had been meaning to call me!! I had only been trying to call them for a week and no-one could help apart from adviser assigned to my app and she was on holiday...after days of calling on average 6 times a day and raising a complaint got it all sorted and now so far going well...signed and returned diposition, deeds and consent forms for lawyer, all surveys done and come back ok so just waiting now to move which is on 27th nov- not long to go! As i have not sold before dunno if anything else has to happen...i guess i will find out....what a stressful time it has been (got married, redundancy , new job and move house all in a year!!)...i have been lucky that i got a buyer just after 3 months on market- have taken a drop in price (selling 1 bed flat taken a loss of around 9%, bought house which dropped price by 5%) but nothing in comparison to what some guys on here will be taking...so good luck to everyone...will post as to if and when it all completes!!Make £5 a day in October £323/£155
Make £10 a day in November £4.99/£3100 -
Well so another weekend swings round, no viewings booked in here for the weekend, its gone ever so Quiet, Hopefully I will get a phone call today, I only need one person, thats my mantra at the moment. Hope one of us gets a bit further forward this weekend.
Scurr sounds like a little flurry, thats good, without viewers you cant sell.
I wonder how Lisa is getting on?
hi pawpurrs and all,
well i'm still here, the sleepless nights are killing me at the moment with my new little bundle, but nevertheless we are still on the market..........
our business is now officiall moving, which is next week on monday the 17th nov  down to kent
the plan then is to stay with my parents 4 days a week (3 nights a week) whilst good ole mum looks after the babba. Me and OH will then work 10 hour days at the new unit and drive back up to leics for 3 day weekends...........oh can't wait......
the last 2 viewings we have had have both been very promising but still waiting for that all elusive offer, both couples are cash buyers, first have already sold their house in france and are moving back to UK, said our property was the best they had seen so far and was at the top of their list, the 2nd said they would like a 2nd viewing, but no word from either sets as yet.....
EA asked if we would now consider the low offer of £171,000, which we are holding on the back burn at the moment in case one of the latest viewings comes through with a higher offer.
but.... on a good note, the property we have our eye on in sevenoaks, have just dropped their price from offers over £308,000 to an asking price of £290,000.... will probably give it just one more week and then except the low offer, we've just gotta get on with our lives!!!!!!!!!!!
good luck all for the weekend

10/10 for effort, Lisa ! Sounds like you have some scope now for moving forward.
iskane, that's great news too. People here are getting results, but it should be obvious to outsiders that few of us have achieved anything quickly, or without a lot of hassle.0 -
I'm seeing drops of 25-30% from last summer, very few sellers will accept that though, the ones that are are the ones selling.
It's a slow burn at first, but as more folk who really need to sell do so, precedents are set for individual roads, and then there's no turning back.
Larger, more individual houses have somewhat greater immunity to this kind of price infection but, eventually, even they have to follow the general trend.
For example, I'm seeing a few decent smallholdings I can actually afford now, but having gone 'through the mill' this year, I'm inclined to wait till I see lots of them, or until one with something special shows up.0 -
No feedback from all my viewings yesterday - the young couple who've been twice brought a parent along yesterday so just hope he hasn't put them off! Nothing booked for weekend though...
Lots of luck everyone & have a good weekend x0 -

agents rang to say the last 2 couples which loved it have both decided it's a no go
gonna do a further price drop, yet another 15/20k......... that's a total of 45/50k altogether which is a 23% drop, that makes us the most competitively priced property in our area, so don't really know what more we can do...............0 -

thanks davsidipp, yes sevenoaks is lovely, but nothing is selling in the area we are looking at either, but until I sell my own place and become a buyer myself, I can't test the market and put any offers in at all, though very much looking forward to when this happens.0
