well, the property we have our eyes on in sevenoaks is a 3 bed detached bungalow on a third of an acre! The house itself needs looooooooooooooooooads of work, but that's half the fun, and then there's the garden, which is where the dream of outside space, a veggie patch and chickens all come into play!
when checking out properties on rightmove and with property bee, hardly any are selling in the area and very few are doing price reductions, the few that do are only knocking the odd 5-10k off, and when it's a 350k property, it just isn't enough to entice any interest. I think that there is still a lot of people out there that don't really know what is happening with the property market.

Sorry to hear your news, Lisa, but with your pro-active approach, you'll still get there.
I think people do know what's happening, but many are praying that something will turn up, so they prevaricate rather than go out on a limb with a decent reduction. This may also be particularly true in certain affluent areas such as in the South Hams, parts of Cornwall or, in your case, just outside the M25. There's money in those types of location and a little more buoyancy but, ultimately, they will go the same way as everyone else. People cannot press the pause button and keep it there indefinitely; life must move on.0 -
Morning All,
Anyone had any luck over the weekend? I wish the banks would put the mortgage offers back on the web there seems to be loads missing still, they really are not helping the situation. Nothing for me no viewer at all yet, getting fed up.
FeefeeLife's what you make it.:j0 -
Its Gone Dead here, only one viewing last week, they were not even on the market, seemed to love it, but havent even had any feed back from them. So written them off, and nothing since at all. After having had so many viewings its just dead now! But a phone call could come up at any time, and it only takes one!Pawpurrs x0

My viewing was the same as yours Pawpurrs. Not on the market yet and viewing several properties. Seemed to really like mine, but I won't hold my breath. Will wait to hear the feedback from the agent.
Did your viewers increase their offer justpgraham? Sorry to hear you have all been so poorly. Even harder to make the house gleaming when you feel lousy. Hope you feel a bit better today and get some good news.
How did your 3 viewings go Hostiegirl? Any feedback yet?
Cheer up Feefee, as Pawpurrs says it only takes one phone call. Hope the phone rings soon for you.0 -
Have to say I feel pretty down too, just want to move on with our lifes, all the doom and gloom makes it hard too. Especially as our last buyer loved the house but pulled out due to lack of confidence in the market. Even if one finds a buyer getting it through to exchange without any messing around is not going to be easy, I know.
Some times I think just stick it in auction and be done with it. Without blowing my own trumpet oh well ok a bit, I know the house stands out against others as its well presented and a lot cheaper than all the deluded prices out there, but its still not under offer.Pawpurrs x0 -
Aw Pawpurrs, poor you. This market is just so dire and frustrating at the moment. I know what you mean about wanting to move on. It always feels as if your life is on hold. As you say, you know your house is really well presented and at a good price and yet where are those buyers? I bet loads of people would love to buy your house, but are stuck waiting to sell theirs. I have watched one estate agent in Cornwall slash prices by £50k to £100k and still they are not under offer. We so need the banks to start lending to each other and get those mortgages available again.
Trying hard to be positive now, my agent said last week that they did have an increase in the number of offers. Hope this is true and one of us gets an offer soon to give us all a boost. Keep going everyone0 -
Well I had kind of forgot my house was on the market.
The EA has just phoned, a prospective buyer (no chain) would like to view on Saturday. At least it will spurr me on to actually get the house clean this week.
