The crux of the matter here is that you may have to lower your expectations, as will many people - living above & beyond your means is no longer an option.
Tough to face, but people need to get their heads around this fact.
Secondly, you are chasing the market down - you could have had £249K or whatever but didn't take it - in 6 months or so you'll be looking back saying "if only we'd taken that £175K"
The economy is goosed - get ready for some big problems as hedge funds, pension funds, & maybe even banks go bust. Many firms & banks are effectively bankrupt already, things are going to get much, much worse.
Very true, the house we wanted to buy was on at 250k but as we've dropped our price so much to get a sale it's no longer an option. We are now looking at houses at 175k and under.
Congrats on the new baby Lisa.
We are SSTC for the 3rd time so fingers crossed.0 -
Welcome back Lisa, and congratulations, I was wondering if the baby had come early.
Still no sale here, and have reduced the price again and cant really drop any more without being ridiculously lower than the competition. Buyers seem to be so airy fairy at the moment.
I am on to viewing 13 this weekend, unlucky for some! Two viewings booked in for tomorrow so far.
Did the lady that was interested in yours come back to you at all with an increased offer?
You moving to Kent soon?
Had some feedback from the viewers yesterday, they are not sure about the location, apparently.Pawpurrs x0 -
Hi Pawpurrs,
No 13 viewing, unlucky for some but very luck for others.
You never know.
Surely they new the location before they viewed, there's nowt queerer than folk:rolleyes:
Good Luck with the viewing.0 -
Yes they only live a few miles away, they said they were unsure if they want a village and are then going on to view another in a different village, so maybe just decided against this village.
Viewers are very annoying!
Hopefully one of the viewers tomorrow will be more decisive, they all seem so undecisive at the moment!Pawpurrs x0 -

Thats because there is so much choice and people are not sure whether they will be catching the falling knife as they say.Making money online in 2009 to date earnt:

I agree R.
Buying a house is stressful enough, but in these times of so much uncertainty with house price drops, high utility bills and job losses people are becoming more nervous:eek:0
