Well, hubby sent off down south yesterday, not sure who was more upset, him or the kids! A house I really like has finally reduced by 30k but its a major 'doer uper' and to be honest I doubt we will ever sell to be able to get it, but the EA said if we were to go for it, it is on a retained mortgage (or something like that) as it needs so much doing to it. Can those of you in the know explain what that means please? She said something about they would retain so much money, would our equity cover that? Any help appreciated!

All it means is the mortgage company will retain a certain amount of money back untill the work is done. However, that would normally only apply if you have a high LTV if you have a large deposit (from equity or otherwise, it shouldnt apply) Unless of course the house is deemed inhabitable, ie no kitchen/bathroom that sort of thing.
Best to ask the EA exactly what they mean by that.
No luck on the selling front then Kymie?

The couple who have offered on my house still haven't been to the Estate Agents with their proof of ID. ? what are they playing at now?

Another viewer booked for tomorrow evening. Have lost count already but I'm still in single figures lol.

Wouldnt worry about that especially is that just for money laundering purposes.
Are they otherwise getting on with it, mortgage application in, survey booked, heard from their sols?

Turns out the eccentric old dear didnt even turn up
Or maybe it took her so long to get here, that the EA would have been and gone, or it didnt take her as long, as she thought and they were not here.
    Nothing in the pipeline.

Wont make jokes as bet you got the house spotless!!, BUT you never know she maybe enroute and turn up sometime today!!:rotfl:

I think so... to be fair on the old dear, she probably woke-up and forgot her own name or what day it was. Doesn't make it much better for you, though. :(

You deserve som ereally good karma, pawpurrs.

awww pawpurrs I was so looking forward to hearing what the old dear said.
Tempting to try the lived in look isnt it ...and yet time after time we clean ! And karma will get those who dont turn up/are just after a day out etc.

I hope you continue to have viewers pawpurrs, it's equally awful when you dont have a viewer for months like me, and then have to clean the lived in look ....really lived in!

rsootarsing, i am in Kent too, have a buyer (praying to keep them) but like you, all I have been looking at have sold in last few weeks......but I am looking for really low end of market!

good luck and keep ya peckers up u lot!

Very much so, I remember we had 2 lots of viewers who didn't turn up. I'd shipped the girls out with DH one of the times and was waiting to go to fetch eldest from school the other. I think it is Extremely rude and ignorant, not to mention thoughtless. One of the 'non-viewers' has their own house on the market, so you'd expect some sort of understanding! Grrr!

I'll get off me soap box now.
I love giving home made gifts, which one of my children would you like? :D :A :D

That was my third no show, First was an EA should have known better. Second had only booked in an hour previously (and said they had forgotton) and the old dear.
On top of two cancelled viewings, but at least they had the courtsey to call, both only cancelled right at the last minute, one I rushed back from a town 3/4 an hour away, and the other I had allready been cleaning for two hours as they cancelled just before they were due, and it was their third viewing!
