OH good news from me, had an offer on my house yesterday.......been on market for 2 years .....this is the third 'buyer' so hoping third time lucky....fingers crossed !!!

That light at the end of the tunnel is probably a train ......but praying it's not !

Best of luck for a successful sale this time, its horrendous keeping your fingers crossed for weeks, isn't it.

Have you had to reduce quite a lot then, seeing as you've been on the market 2 years?

    Hi
thanks for the luck....need all I can get !

Have reduced from 168k to 145k over the last year, so I have everything crossed right now and doubt I will be getting much sleep over the next few months.........this is my only way forward now and if it works out I might even be able to look at being debt free before I die !

It has been a very difficult 2 years!

Just how am I going to get through the next few months of waiting and praying it wont all collapse again???

I'm playing the waiting game 2nd time around, though these buyers seem wholly more commited than the first. I'm the kind of person who likes to be in control of everything and wants things done yesterday, so it's a living hell for me, waiting on others to get their acts together!:o

    Congraulations on getting a buyer.

We will soon be starting on the haul of trying to sell. This weekend we are decorating DS1s bedroom because it is a very dark blue which makes the room really dark as it's north facing. We did DS2s room last week as it was british racing green which also made his room look dark. DS2s room now looks great. I'm going to have to buy new curtains because his curtains cost us nearly £400 so we don't want to leave them. They are fairly large for a bedroom so should fit wherever we move to. I'll look for a bed linen set too as his bedding is quite old now. I think a lot of the curtains I will look for cheap replacements for, as they were all several hundred £ a pair. Hopefully we'll be on the market in the next week or so (well I guess we'll have to wait for the HIP to be done first.)

Estate agent has reduced the price of our house and just waiting for it to be reduced on Rightmove.

Advert will be in paper next Friday so fingers crossed it makes a difference.

DH still thinks once we sell ours we will be in a strong position- has not thought that we want a house in the nicest and most expensive area of the town and and that sellers are being quite stubborn about price.

Blimey Pawpurrs - you seem to have a viewing almost every day at the moment! Good luck and VERY happy birthday :)

Elona, it really is a gamble. We have done similar: sold quickly whilst the houses that we are interested in are still ridiculously over-priced (i.e. "2007 + an extra premium" prices) AND not many of them. We complete this week and are BEGINNING to see prices (of the sort of houses we are interested in) dropping a LITTLE (now back down to peak prices  ). More houses are coming onto the market at more reasonable prices, but not really anything we are interested in yet. We wont know what people are prepared to accept UNTIL we start viewing/negotiating and goodness knows if anything else interesting will come onto the market. We are renting back our own house from our buyer (investment buyer) for initially 6 months (all signed and sealed), so we are not in a rush. Will just have to see how it goes...
