Sorry dinasaur nearly missed you there, stick around, we seem to have lots of newbies this week, and you are all welcome, its so good to hear everyones stories, especially the good stuff.
Sounds like there is some interest, its really a rollercoaster, my spirts are up again after the viewing, I was feeling so fed up! Mind you I might never hear from them again, people are so strange when buying houses!
The house price sites dont help, I had someone offer that based their offer on 20% drops from the price we paid for it, but prices went up before they went down, and they didnt take in to account the total refurb of the property, and wouldnt budge on their offer! They knew best, all very good and well, but if seller and buyer cant compromise on a price then there will be no deal. I am being realistic on price, but their maths just dont add up!
It is hard not to get your hopes up when they view three times!
Well done alm, hope it all goes through smoothly.Pawpurrs x0 -
Long time since i posted here .. sorry ( with 4 kids the days go to fast ). Good to see things seem to have been moving on in here and people getting offers, good luck to all who are waiting.
Were still no further forwardviewings have dwindled to .. well none in the last 4 weeks
so we have dropped the price AGAIN. We are now at our final price drop as we wouldnt be able to get a mortgage at a decent rate as we would of used all our deposit up on price drops.
We are now on at 129.950, back in June 2008 we went on at 164,950 so a 35k drop we paid 117k in 2003. Is my price back to 2004 levels ?

Welcome Delarid to the mad house:p
Fingers crossed for some viewings for you soon. Was it on at a much higher price last year?
Yes it was. Made the mistake of listening to a madly bullish estate agent. Learnt that if it goes on too high no amount of quick reductions can pull it around.
Thanks for the sympathy.0 -
Not sure quite how to work out your 2004 price Charlotte? If the asking price was realistic a 17% drop would be in the 130s?Pawpurrs x0

OMG, I have just read through the last couple of months of this thread and am now poopin meself. Our house went on the market in Aug 2008, had 25 viewings:eek:, got an offer on 9 March from a FTB. So far: the solicitors have been instructed, valuation has been done. EA says my buyer should get their mortgage offer on Monday. Letter from my solicitor estimates completion in 6-8 weeks. All sounds good doesn't it? Except, I have read through some of your experiences, particularly pawpurrs and mishmash and I am waiting for the rug to be pulled out from under me.:o I think maybe some FTB don't realise they are messing with people's lives/homes. Maybe when they come to sell their homes in the future the bad karma will come and bite them on the !!!:p. But having said all that, I hope that those of you still trying to sell have some good luck soon. I ain't out of the woods yet.0

rollercoaster still going up and down here!Pawpurrs x0 -
Pawpurrs, thankyou for your encouragement but I can feel my hair going grey at the roots whilst I am typing this.
Somebody please post on here that they have sold their house, exchanged contracts, completed and actually moved without any problems, pleeeeeeeease0 -
Pretty stressful isnt it?
If they had their valuation done, presumably the surveys been done, if your buyer has recieved that, and there are no issues, then thats one HUGE hurdle over and done with.
How many viewings did your eventual buyer have before offering?
I now have a lady who wants to come back for the THIRD time!Pawpurrs x0 -
My buyer's parents viewed the house the first time and then my buyer viewed it with them the second time. I think the parent's are helping out with the mortgage in some way. I just worry that someone is going to get cold feet. I can't cope with anymore house viewings, I have become accustomed to living like a slob for the past couple of weeks (though I think I will be bored with that by this weekend;)). We have already started packing stuff up and I have paid my solicitor £600 already. If my buyer pulls out, I swear I will hunt him down:mad:.
Anyway, I will keep updating. But some goodluck stories would be much appreciated, lift the old spirit sort of thing.0
