To those selling in these difficult times

That's a terrible thing to happen, Lisa. When we've lost out like that, it's been a 'normal' loss of buyer event that caused it, not someone else's incompetence. It must be so hard to stay civil in such circumstances!
What an incredible series of ups and downs we've all had. You couldn't write this script, could you? I've just done 70 pages of Rightmove, but the only property I wanted to view has just gone under offer, not that it's showing as, seemingly, the agent can't be bothered to update them.
Still keeping fingers crossed for you tomorrow, pawpurrs.0 -
thanks dave & PP, I'm still hoping that the sale falls through and that we are still given the chance to buy it, what's really frustrating is that we declined a low offer only 2 weeks prior to all this happening as we were certain that we were going to rent out our property, had we accepted the low offer and then put in the low offer, I would probably be sitting in my new house right now

I too have been looking on rightmove for another property to catch my eye, but nothing as yet0 -

I am pretty sure that that's the best strategy in this market. Renting out in this market seems a huge gamble, particularly as the sort of property that makes sense as BTLI** may not make sense as BTL.
BTLI = Buy to live inNo reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -
Ours went on the market on Tues and we had our first viewing yesterday.0

i really hope you get an offer pawpurrs i have to say it sounds very promising good luck. no viewings for us this week but then we have had snow this weekend which always puts people off. things are still very slow around here we only seem to get a viewing about once every 2 mnths (not just us i know a few people in the village who are selling and all say the same otherwise i would be worried) the house is imaculate we are in a nice area and priced inline with everyone else so i guess we just have to be patient problem is im not a very patient person. we have been on market since oct 07 with one sale fall through. i feel like my life is on hold. sorry im even depressing myself now lol.:coffee:i find a cup of tea can solve most problems:coffee:
 but alcohol solves them all

Well feeling a bit nervous this morning waiting for the feedback!
And the decision is harder as we now have no income, as DH was made redundant, so not sure if any one will rent to us, although I hope if we offer to pay six mths rent in advance, that should be ok?
All very nervewracking!:o
Didnt sleep well last night, I find the once you have a buyer more stressful than the selling, because I know how wrong it can all go, and its the upheaveal, plus we dont know what we are going to do, where we are going to live etc, AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Hope all those still to sell, might have some offers soon.
Moneysavingcomp, we will all get there eventually!Pawpurrs x0 -
Phone went at 9.01 they are going to offer, but are just sorting things out, may be a couple of days, so the wait continues.......Pawpurrs x0

Oooohh, keeping my fingers crossed for you Pawpurrs. We've still not had any more viewings, or feedback from the (only) two we had a few weeks ago, but hubby looks like he has found a job near where we are moving back to, so he could be moving down in the next month or two to stay at his parents house with our eldest (who is already down there staying with friends) and I will be left up here with the other 5 kids and no end in sight yet! What joy!0

Congratulations on the job Kymie, thats another thing we need to get sorted!
Had some other good news today, so hopefully my luck is on the turn!Pawpurrs x0 -

Urgh, yes, remember that stage well! Let's hope they are successful and quick in 'sorting things out.'
You should have no problem renting if you can pay 6 months up-front; in fact you should be able to negotiate a reduction. Don't forget your agent has a good knowledge of the way you keep your home, so he/she should be able to back your application for a rental, even if, like us, you have no refs.0
