    Hi everyone

You all did really well with your lists so dont be hard on yourself, were already making things easier for christmas time so dont worry if they odd job gets missed, theres still time, we wont be the ones running round like headless chickens come December ;)

I didnt do a list but wanted to get my bedroom sorted, which I finished last night. And a serious declutter of the kitchen which I didnt finish  but im carrying on with that this week, hopefully Ill get most of it done this weekend.

Does anyone think its a good idea to take the kids to toys r us to see what they are actually drawn to and play with? Their lists are just getting ridiculous and im sure if they saw some of the stuff they picked they would change their minds.

    :xmastree: Christmas Countdown :xmastree:
    :santa2:8 weeks 5 days to go!:santa2:
8 weeks and 5 days? Yeh, you heard me right. I am not sure what happened to 13 weeks but we're now on 8 and that scares me but also fills me with excitement.
I started the 10 list challenge last week and you guys just took the challenge and made it work better then I ever imagined. Congratulations to all of you who completed your lists.
    Important note about the challenge:
Christmas is a time for US equally as it is for our families. The list of ten is a bit of fun so that at the end of the week you can see what you have accomplished.. Not what you HAVEN'T. Once friday comes, enjoy a treat and delete the list from your mind ready to start a fresh, invigorated new week. Don't beat yourself up over what everyone else has achieved. Everyone has different lives behind the keyboards.

Sorry I haven't been here this week. I have had a rotten flu and throat infection. I am starting to feel a little better now but it has been really tiring looking after my two poorly whingebags in the process! (And I don't mean my husband:rotfl: )

Lists are to be made on a friday and completed by the following friday (as a guide) I will try to keep this update every friday from then on so that it is kind of our thread day.

    :snow_laugOMG everyone.. It's nearly CHRISTMAS!:snow_grin :xmassmile:xmassign: :xmastree: :santa2::rudolf:

I think it is a brilliant idea but I would advise against going later on in the day and on a weekend. I went last week and the queues were astonishing!! perhaps you could limit them to a list that has a certain amount of lines to fill so they can't have more then what they can fit on their list. Maybe quiz them about what's on their lists, pretend you don't know what they are and see how enthusiastically they describe each thing.

Don't forget though, lists are brilliant because then your kids never know what they really will get as there is so much to choose from. Also try and picture the big day. Picture all the things you will get them. All of the things other people will have given them. Now think about their lists. Will they even notice they didn't get a few things? If you get them too much will they be overwhelmed and not appreciate each thing.

Don't feel bad. I remember ticking half the argos when I was little:rotfl: .

Yay!!! Thanks pinkladymel, I was hoping someone would agree :D I want to go and play with everything myself.....only problem is I only have use of the car on weekends so its the only time I can go and was thinking tonight but maybe it would be a better idea to go earlier.

My 3 know that they wont get everything on their lists but know they will get some of it, hard thing for me then is deciding which bits to get and trying not to go overboard (which I have done in the past) and im determined not to do it again.

I used to write mega lists too, my youngest is 6 she sits for ages with all the gift guides/catalogues :rotfl:

Have a few jobs around the house to do and ill decide whether to go today or not, my mum read something about peoples shopping habits couple of weeks back, apparantly more people go food shopping in the rain and 'other' shopping when its nice.....pouring down here so everyone should be in the supermarket :D

You never know that could be an omen to go! I should think if you can sneaky an early tea in you could go at about 5 when everyone clears off for dinner and it should be quieter.

When I went last week some wally had the heating on so high. When I got back to the car I had the reddest cheeks you have ever seen. Red cheeks are kind of festive though, right?

I have got to exercise some self control this year too. I see so many bargains and love to shop so much that I just go over board on the kids presents and they never all get played with.

I wish I was 6 circling catalogues :o awwww!! Why do we have to grow old!
