Organised Christmas 2008.. The countdown has begun!
Comments

1. Have report 1 completed
2. Have report 2 completed
3. Write christmas card list
4. Make a final decision on a 'home made gift' for my mum, dad, OH and grandad - I always make one thing but not sure what to do this year - answers on a postcard!
5. Sort the photos for my friends photo calender (but only make it when a discount code appears)
6. Locate a website that lets me make a slim calender with my own photos - DONE thanks to Baybee1984's help(Will either use pixum or tesco photos)
7. Have a search for the cheapest Nintendo DS - see if can beat price of £85 (if anyone sees any please let me know! - don't need games, just the console) £85 still the best this week, will keep checking until mid-November
8.Think of some more things to put in Wine hamper for Mum (have bought some mini bottles and christmas bottle stoppers..)
9. Browse threads to get an idea of what to buy Grandad
10. Interrogate OH on some ideas ("but its only October, Xmas is ages away" is the usual answer!!)
11. Count my 'spare change' tinDONE! Over £300 totally shocked and happy - think I can aford my £40 dress now (which is actually only £32 as I found a 20% discount code!)
Reward: Allowing myself to buy a £40 dress with money I've put in my spare change tin. It is a huge amount for me to spend but a good investment as will be used for Xmas parties and much much more- gutted the dress didn't fit
but I have £40 more in my pocket I suppose
Well this is what I managed in the last week. Note I managed the fun things but not the reports for my college course:eek::o
Bit gutted about the dress which was my treat, but I got a new jumper instead which was £6 so happy all round
Had a few good suggestions for the home made gift but I'm not sure the family would 'get' them so need to give that some more thought
:ABeing Thrifty Gifty again this year:A

Reindeer Sparkle Dust
= A mixture of oatmeal and glitter (red & green work the best)
Can I just quickly add to this that Glitter is very dangerous to birds/hedgehogs etc so please if you want to use anything for the glittery effect - i would recommend using granulated sugar and using food colouring in it instead!
Ok so heres my list that I have to get done- make christmas list for me (im being nagged on all sides as i never 'want' anything)
- make Bens final xmas list and arrange whos buying what
- find the cheapest Wii I can
- BUY IT!!!!
- Finalise what to get BF
- buy Bens Megazord (this is his main gift hes been nagging for since May)
- figure out how much money i have to go shopping with between now and christmas!
- Make Toys R Us shopping list
- Clean Motorbike leathers
- Sell Motorbike Leathers on Ebay
Time to find me again0 -
oh.... just come back from a dobbies garden centre, me and dh stopped for a coffe there. Christmas has hit bigtime there. Everything done up, trees decorations, lights, christmas music. I was in heaven....hubby did the 'oh no' look' i will never get her out again'....but he did because i had to get back for dd coming in from school. (shes almost 16 but she likes me to be in when she gets back if im not working). Any way he promised to take me again next week for a proper look around.
so now the music has set me off put my cd on and dog just gone crackers running round in a circle and howling, it looks really funny. She loves christmas too....since being a pup shes loved playing with wrapping paper and old envelopes, so she thinks its her birthday on xmas morning when its every where. just been thinking after seeing all the nice stuff at the garden centre-
when do you all put up your christmas trees and decorations, outside lighting etc and what do you have? Simple stuff or are you totally christmas crackers?
If i can persuade dh to go in the loft my tree goes up at the begining of december, always reuse decorations and add the odd extra one each year. Outside we have simple white lights on an old tree. This year im looking for a new wreath for the door and garden gate, my old ones have literally fallen apart.sealed pot member no :0812011- £306.68 2012-£304.36 2013- £387.44 2014 - £441.43

Thought Id give you all a laugh.........sure it must be becoz I took a hol and not doing my xmas lists etc!!
Had a ngtmare with the travellodge, my rm was ok, parents wasnt - there was toe nail clippings in the bed, thats not the worst, few stains on top of quilt cover ok, manage 4 one ngt......pulled in back the underside instead of being dirty white was lovely shades of blood..........
8am this morning reception was blue........but to shut me up they refunded me £90 (the 2 rms), so thought great £90 to spend.......no......the lock has gone on the car door, so thats in garage down here, dreading the bill, got to the caravan site, (when we were down last time altered the booking fri to fri on paper to be put on computer).......they forgot to alter it, luckly they had a spare caravan for tonight so we have to move tomorrow!!
So fingers crossed.........xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx0 -

Hi there, we do the tree a week before the 24th december but my mum and dad do their tree on the morning of the 24th. We also put a few little christmassy stuff round the house about three weeks before christmas, things like little cute angel figures, sparkly ribbons, lots of fresh pine twigs, mistletoe in a christmas vase is a must have, we have both green and golden sprayed ones, of course we always have christmas candles burning - apple and cinnamon, and we bake like mad so the house gets the nice christmassy smell anyway (vanilla sugar, cinnamon, orange peel and eating lots and lots of tangerines and oranges - my mum uses the peel to add flavour to pumpkin preserved in syrup), and thankgod we managed to sort some wood out for our woodburner (lovely and warm - very christmassy) and for our rayburn to keep us warm and have hot water) that's the traditional sort of thing of ours :-)
We don't do the outside lighting as we like to see the stars :-) stargazers...But this year - please pretty please can we have some snow at last? xxx0 -
Morning All
Well I failed to complete my list of ten jobs, I did everything except the 2 christmas planners for presents (I just couldn't be bothered doing all the printing:o )
I will now have to add to the list of things to do when I get back of holiday, as I have a great long list of things I need to do today and tomorrow before we go ontop of having to see grandparents for DS2 birthday  )And Picking LEGO up today and tomorrow)
SO LITTLE TIME .............. SO MUCH TO DO !!!!!
I don't feel like doing anything either so can some pleaseeeeeeeee give me a kick up the bum
I thought I was getting organised but I've still loads to do for christmas, I wanted all my HM gifts done before I went away (BUT THATS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.... )
I feel really down today, don't know whats wrong, I think I've managed to pick up the I CAN'T BE BOTHERED bug!!!
Well I'm going to get another coffee and see if I can shake my shelf into doing the jobs that need doing:D
Take care

Sarahf191979 - you have achieved so much this week - you had two lists to do when the rest of us had one!! Go and enjoy your holiday - you deserve it - and I bet you will feel re-newed when you get back.
mum2one - sounds horrific esp. the toenails - yuck! - Hope the rest of your time improves!
findingmyfeet - I LOVE Dobbies at Christmas time - the kids get dragged there every opportunity - lovely to look at but very expensive.
Well, I have tidied one (very messy) corner of our living room this week so am feeling good about that and the freezer is filling up nicely - I have at least two weeks worth of 'ready' meals for December.
DD1's birthday outing today with three of her friends so nothing will be done today Planning to sit tomorrow and write a huge list of everything to be done between now and Christmas - might just scare myself or it might get me motivated - we will see!!
How do others who leave it all to the last minute do it? I do feel stressed at points but I love planning and doing all this OC stuff and thinking how relaxed December will be fills me with happiness!!
Have a good day everyone!
Love
Gill
