hi jasmine - my hampers are just sweetie ones for the kids and a friends child who's halloween party we are going too. They're basically one of the pumkin buckets (59p wilkos) filled with shredded black tissue paper, chocolate eye balls and pumkins (2 for one wilkos), halloween selection cube (thorntons), halloween choc lolly and choc bar (thorntons)
I'll just cellophane them up with a gold bow - will post pics when done.
Hi Roxy. Thank you for sharing your hampers idea.:T I know Halloween is mainly for the kids - which is quite easy to organise but this year I wanted to do hampers for our friends (2 couples) as extra thank you sort of thing (they supported us through some tough period this year, ok now :-) ), so just wanted to do something little extra. I was thinking about making food hampers as we really only do hampers for everything - thank you ones, tough times ones, birthdays, easter and christmas. We don't really buy stuff as such, we give gifts that are on the wishlist, that can be well used, drank or eaten. So I usually know what to get for everyone but as this would be my first time for halloween hampers - I am a bit stuck. Maybe i'll just stick to some apples, toffee and cider or

And i like the idea of those pumpkin buckets (don't know how big they are) - just thinking what they can be used for afterwards...0 -

hey jasmine- they cant really be used for much year round - i just fill them with sweeties for when the trick or treaters come round on halloween. grown up ideas could be ginger parkin, toffee, sour sweets, sour alcohol ie apple sourz, sparklers, home made toffee apples (they sell good kits in sainsburies) and some spooky chocs thrown in for good measure? Sorry not brimming with ideas. Just finished mine and they look good even if I do say so myself! If a bucket wouldnt fit everything you wanted on there, asda do some really great spooky platters that are bigger.:)MANAGED TO CLEAR A 3K OVERDRAFT IN ONE FRUGAL, SUPER CHARGED MONEY EARNING MONTH!:j

I would love to see your finished hampers - they must be sooo lovely. I shall go to Stockport asda and sainsburrys and look for what you have suggested. Anyhow, well done for finishing yours - now I have to get sorted, it does mean a lot to me to do something really special. And then - the big ones, for christmas, most of my hampers are half ready, just trying to sort out the timings for homemade foodie bits and get everything ready on time, sooo little time, sooo busy...but I love it, it's nice and very exciting. Ooops, feeling too festive already :xmassmile

RoxieW Love the Halloween Hamper Ideas, might pinch that for next year...(Too late now as we are going away)
jasmine from the north I've never tried Pumpkin Pie, I made a lovely cake last year with the Pumpkin Flesh everyone (Even the kids!!!) was wolfing it down it was only after they asked how i done it that they were shoked it had Pumpkin in it...I will dig the recipie out later and post. It truely was scrummy... and that says something as I'm terrible with cakes LOL
Well done to everyone your all doing so well, I only have a few more jobs on my list now, but just can't seem to be bothered  It rained most of the afternoon yesterday and was grey and miserable up here. Sorry Maria, wasn't on much yesterday and just noticed your question now.
Reindeer Sparkle Dust
= A mixture of oatmeal and glitter (red & green work the best)
I used 1/2 box of oatmeal, and about a 75ml tub of red glitter mix them up and call it Reindeer Sparkle Dust. We've used since my oldest DS was 2 and i got the "recipe" from his playgroup.
You tell the little ones to sprinkle it on their pathway on christmas eve to ensure Rudolf knows where to land. My boys love sprinkling it everywhere. I've made cones of it for my nieces and our friends' boy too. :santa2:0
