  • Hi everyone,

at last i started my christmas shopping yesterday, i bought 3 xmas puds from iceland, a starwars clone wars advent calender , a clone wars fleece blanket and guitar hero on ds from ebay.
now i am filling in my card list and shopping list from organized christmas.

does anyone have a po christmas savings card? if you do, do you know if you can have half the balance on the card changed into vouchers and the rest left on the card or do you have to have it all in vouchers or all on the card.
only asking as i have noticed that some places accept the card and others only accept the vouchers.

    thanks bride on a budget

Hello!! I am a new lurker from the "Money Neutral Gift challenge" thread and also now want to get organised for xmas! All the gals on the thread have done really well and managed to reduce the cost of present buying by only buying gifts with cashback money, vouchers etc. to pay for their birthday presents for people this year - many of us have not spent any 'real' money on birthday presents all year!

We are also attempting to do the same for Christmas, and some have already got all theirs sorted and haven't spent any 'real' cash for Christmas either! I'm 22% of the way there, but still need about £250 to earn in vouchers or via eBay. If you want to join us! COme and have a look at our thread!! :)

Back to organised christmas! I can't wait! I have a gift book and write down what i have bought everyone year to year so I don't give a similar thing 2 years on the run!

Anyone got any thoughts on what to buy an 89 year old grandad except for clothes, biscuits, slippers, books?! He stumps me every year!! xx

Hiya Jamtart.. you used to be on the boots thread when I was on it but I got away from there after going a bit mad with the 5 for 1's ;)

have you got children? I saw this beautiful book full of questions that a grandparent fills in of things you would want to know when theyre gone. Sounds morbid but it was lovely. Like.. What was your wedding day like, what were things like when you was little. etc.

Ooh that is a great idea for part of his present! :jThanks Pinkladymel! I will have to have a good think for some questions!! (no kids, but I'd love it :D!!) He has written me 'memoirs' of when he was in the war, which is a valuable historical document to me now!!

(I am less of an avid Bootser these days, only really shop online occasionally when 1000pt for £50 spend offers are on, as I have a house full of toiletries from 2007 and I am still working my way through them !!)

Many moons ago yes, you have a great memory! I won't have time to do that before xmas, but it is something to consider for the future!! :)
