If you don't see anything in the basket, just ask one of the baristas who are usually happy to empty the drawers of the espresso machines for you. I work at Starbucks and often have people asking for used grounds. The only thing we ask: be mindful of how busy it is in the store - if we're in the middle of a rush, it's difficult to stop making drinks to bag up grounds. It's not that we're being grumpy, just that there's no time at the moment. I'm always happy to bag them up when I have the time and save them for someone!
My 2 nearest branches just don't do it anymore and no one can say why??0 -
Be gentle with me this is my first posting! But in response to this comment re:starbucks coffee grounds.......
On Sunday I went into Sainsbury's cafe, and they are offering the same thing.....there was a sign at the cash desk, so I asked if they had any spare. A large bag of used coffee grounds was handed over for free! I was thrilled to bits. Unfortunately the woman behind me saw what I had done, but there was none left, I had the last bag!
Motto for you, get there early on Sunday mornings when coffee is the order of the day!
I'm thrilled, my compost heap will love it! :rotfl: :T0 -
My mum got a bag at starbucks deepdale retail park preston, the lady behind wanted some but there were none left so she asked and they baged some up for her there and then, its worth asking if there are none to be seen.0

This is about a freebie that is no longer available. I went in to Starbucks this morning and was informed that they No Longer give away the free bags of coffee grounds as someone had the very unfortunate experience finding their dog had eaten the coffee grounds - resulting in the poor doggy dying
. So rather than have this happen again they have decided that they will not be giving them away anymore. 0 -
That's a shame (about the dog and the grounds).
I heard they were very good for the garden.0 -
They are really good for the garden, slugs really dont like the stuff. I use it instead of the chemical pellets because of the dog and kids.0

Another stupid person ruining it for the rest....
Shame - noticed these weren't available the other day when I was in a branch.0 -
